Daichi never expected his life to change so drastically. As a 17-year old high schooler, his days were filled with mundane routines classes , homework, and the occasional trip to the library.
One sunny afternoon, Daichi decided to visit the school library to catch up on some reading for his history class. Little did he know, this visit would alter the course of his destiny, and not just because he accidentally sat on a piece of gum.
The library was quiet, filled with the faint scent old paper and the soft rustle of pages being turned.
Daichi wandered through aisles, idly scanning the titles. With his average build, thousand black hair, and deep crystal blue eyes hidden behind his messy hair, he looked like your typical high schooler.
He often wore a hoodie and jeans, blending into the background rather than standing out. He was that kind of guy who preferred video games over sports, and his shy, slightly awkward demeanor made him an avoiding social interactions, especially with girls.
His eyes landed on an old, dusty book tucked away on a high self. It seemed out of place among the more modern texts, almost as if it were hiding from sight. Intrigued, Daichi reached up and carefully pulled it down, ignoring the cobweb that decided to decorate his face.
The book was bound in worn leather, with strange symbols etched into its cover. As Daichi traced the patterns with his fingers, he felt a strange warmth emanate from the book. Suddenly, a bright yellow light burst forth, enveloping him completely.
"What's going on ? " he muttered.
He screamed "Nooooooo!" before realizing this had never happened before. The world around him dissolved, and Daichi felt himself being pulled into a vortex of light and energy, dropping his history book in the process.
When light faded, Daichi found himself lying on the damp ground of a dense jungle under a vast, unfamiliar sky. He quickly realized he was no longer in the library -- or anywhere near his hometown. He was an another world entirely, one filled with vibrant landscape and an air of mystery, and possibly, adventure. Or maybe just bad food, he couldn't tell yet.
As Daichi sat up, he noticed a peculiar mark on his right hand -- a symbol that pulsed with a faint glow.
"Great, now I'm branded like a farm animal," he grumbled. The mark, shaped like an intricate emblem of sword surround by flames, indicated his role as the chosen hero. Confused and disoriented, he began to explore his dense foliage and strange sounds.
Suddenly, a low growl echoed through the trees. Daichi froze, his heart pounding in his chest. Out of the shadows, a large wolf emerged, its eyes gleaming with a predatory hunger.
"This can't be good," Daichi muttered, backing slowly.
The wolf lunged at him, and Daichi instinctively raised his arms to protect himself. He stumbled backward, tripping over a root and falling to the ground. The wolf's claw tore into his hoodie, ripping it apart as it pounced. Just as Daichi braced himself for the worst, an arrow whizzed through the air and stuck the wolf in its side. The beast yelped in pain and retreated into the shadows.
Daichi looked up to see a young villager standing a short distance away, bow in hand
"Are you alright?" the villager asked, rushing to Daichi's side.
"Yeah, I think so," Daichi replied,
still trying to catch his breath. "Thanks for saving me. That was... intense"
The villager helped to Daichi to his feet. " I'm glad I arrived in time. The jungle can be dangerous, especially for someone unfamiliar with it.
My name is Liora. What's yours ?"
"Daichi Sato," he said, brushing off the dirt from his clothes and examining the torn remains of his hoodie.
"I have no idea how I got here, and I definitely wasn't expecting to fight off a wolf today." Daichi said.
Liora's eyes widened as she noticed the mark on Daichi's hand.
"That symbol... you're the chosen hero!" Liora said.
"What nonsense are you talking? I ' am THE CHOSEN HERO" Daichi said to Liora by looking confused.
Liora nodded. "Yes, you are the one prophesied to defeat the Evil god. Who was sealed away by the first Hero- King Thalos. Come, I'll take you to the village. The high priest can heal your wound and explain everything to you."
" Ummm... OK." Daichi said.
Then Daichi followed Liora through the jungle, he couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the by magnitude of his new role. They soon arrived at a small village nested among the trees. Liora led him to a large hut where hut where the high priest awaited.
The high priest, a man with a long white beard and kind eyes, examined Daichi's injuries and began to heal them with a gentle touch and soothing words.
"You are fortunate to have survived the wolf attack." The high priest said.
"The mark on your hand signifies that you are the chosen hero of Astralon."
"That's what everyone keeps saying me," Daichi replied, wincing slightly as the priest's healing magic took effect.
"What exactly does that means for me?"
"It means you are destined to save our world from the evil god who was sealed away by the first Hero-king Thalos," the priest explained.
"It means you are destined to save our world from the evil god who was sealed away by the first Hero-King Thalos," the priest explained. "Nearly a thousand years ago, Thalos, along with sixteen princesses who each possessed a divine weapon, fought a great battle against the evil god. Through their combined strength and the power of their divine weapons, they managed to seal the evil god away, bringing peace to Astralon."
The priest's eyes gleamed with reverence as he continued, "Thalos was a hero of unmatched courage and skill, chosen by the gods themselves. The sixteen princesses, each hailing from a different realm of Astralon, were entrusted with divine weapons that held immense power. Together, they faced countless trials and dangers, forging bonds of trust and love. Their unity and determination were what allowed them to succeed in their quest."
Daichi listened intently, the weight of his new responsibility sinking in. "So, I have to find these sixteen princesses, gain their trust and love, and unite them with their divine weapons to defeat the evil god once more?"
"Yes," the priest said, nodding solemnly.
"But it will not be an easy task. The princesses are scattered across Astralon, each facing their own challenges and dangers. You must prove yourself worthy and earn their trust. Only then can you harness the true power of the divine weapons and fulfill your destiny as the chosen hero."
"Sixteen princess? I can't even talk to one girl without tripping over my own words!" Daichi exclaimed, already feeling the weight of his new, albeit weirdly specific, responsibilities.
"You must find courage within yourself," the priest said, placing a hand on Daichi's shoulder.
"Your journey will be long and challenging, but remember, the fate of Astralon rests on your shoulders"
"Great," Daichi muttered sarcastically.
"No pressure or anything."
