Olivia knew that her son and the strange lady were both getting worked up and tried to calm Gerald down, God knew what the lady was capable of especially with the strange way she put George to sleep, there's no telling what she would do next. She stepped forward and quickly apologized for her son's outburst much to the annoyance of Gerard who wondered what his mother was up to. Olivia asked for her name and she proudly replied her; my name's Knox. Olivia wondered if that was her first or last name but thought it best not to ask her, not knowing what could tick her.
Knox why don't you come over for tea so we can settle your differences with my sons, this has all been a misunderstanding and do come with your parents, i would love to meet them. Alan was about to protest but a quelling look from his mother shut him up. Knox had to ask, tea? What is this? The victorian era or what? Well am sorry i can't make it, i would just need a towing service and would be outta your hair soon enough. Olivia looked sternly at her and replied; now listen here young lady i don't take kindly to rudeness, you would do well to come to tea with your family, now do we have an understanding? A yes ma'am was given in the affirmative. Knox was still surprised at the sudden change in Olivia and the way she spoke to her, it had been a longtime someone scolded, made her feel like she was in high school and in the principal's office for an offence. She looked at her watch which was saying two pm while she was sure they were still in the morning. She asked for the time and Gerard grudgingly checked his pocket watch and she wondered again what was with the older fashion if things being used. Gerard slung George on his shoulder while they left with Olivia telling her to ask of Haversham estate, which was just past the trees.
Knox looked at her Ute thinking on what next to do, knowing there was no way out of tea she decided on getting dressed afterall there was no way of knowing when she would live their so called estate. If there was one thing she hated, it was needing assistance of anyone but need it she did, so swallowing her pride she jogged up to them but she was still far so she whistled sharply which startled the horses and even stopped Gerard and his mother who were just about to ride out.
Purposely snubbing Gerard which irked him to no end, she asked if she could trouble them for a bath as she would like to freshen up before tea all the while laughing inwardly to herself, tea indeed. Gerard was about to smugly say no when his mother beat him to it saying she was welcome to do so and also stay with them till her parents arrived which was just fine by Knox because it would give her sometime to settle and plan her next course of action. Jogging back to her ute she git a backpack filling it up with what she thought were necessities including a shell of bullets for her gun just incase it was needed, there was no telling what was going on around her and until she understood she wouldn't have herself be without personal protection. Jogging back to them she climbed atop George's horse as he was slung across in front of his brother. She rarely ever rode a horse, preferring to use cars or motorbikes which was just fine as she lived in the city.
On getting to their house, which looked like a castle Knox was in for a huge shocker. As soon as she entered the foyer the first thing she noticed was that everything while new was old as in outdated old, huge chandeliers hung from the ceilings, battle armors lining the hallways, paintings of definitely old era dressed people, candelabras positioned at different angles for proper lighting, Knox was in a continuous state of astonishment and she thought liveried footmen helping them down the horses and leading them away was the most of her surprise.
Gerard called footmen to assist him with George and left Knox to his mother who wasted no time in trying to pry information out of Knox starting with her name. What kind of name is Knox, is it french abd why were you named so? Knox could only look at her wondering how to reply.
George awoke as he was being put to bed, he opened his brother staring at him with concern, he suddenly remembered all that occurred and with a smile asked his brother, she knocked me out didn't she? Gerard's expression turned from concern to a smirk seeing his brother was ok and at the question roared with laughter and replied wait till Nathan or the servants hear this, they would never forget this and i know i won't. He paused his laughter at the wistful smile on George's face and asked what? To which he replied am in love, to which he frowned, he didn't much care for Knox despite his attraction to her, but he also couldn't stomach the thought of her in someone else's arms even if it was his brother. Why he felt that way he wouldn't know and refused to think about it as he teased his younger brother some more in a sing song voice Georgie was beaten by a girl. It was times like this that George missed he didn't mind the teasing so much he missed his brother more who was always so serious now that he was a duke.
