Gerard was thinking hard and deep about how to get out of the situation with Emma, he could feel the noose of marriage to her tightening around his neck. There had to be a way to get out of this bondage about to snap around him. He couldn't stomach marrying her after what happened in the past. Pictures of how he found her played in his mind's eye, he just couldn't. It is not like she has changed either, he had heard snippets of her jumping beds up till present so he suspected it was one of these men who would be the father.
