"Oh, Queen Astrid, were those questions truly random?" King Thaneus asked, his tone laced with subtle skepticism. "I think not. I may not have been present in person, but I do have an idea of what transpired here. Camilla is indeed very talented – no denying that," he acknowledged.
"Your daughter is also talented, I'm sure," Queen Lirien chimed in, her voice warm and conciliatory.
"Her man will come along someday. My son choosed wisely, and we love his choice," she added, her eyes shining with maternal pride.
"I cannot force a grown man to marry someone of my own choosing when my own father gave me the freedom to choose my own partner," King Thaneus declared, his voice firm but polite.
"Thank you for hosting us tonight, but do not make an enemy out of us by disparaging our future daughter-in-law.
We will now retire for the night. Thank you again," he said, his tone gracious but firm.
