Chapter 9: [Genius]

"Hey, Al, you're back? We're just about to start here, why don't you come and take a look?"

Glancing at the young man who entered the room, someone who was probably an observer spoke frivolously.

"Hmm? Sure, it's a good time to relax."

The young man called Al also nodded with a smile, skillfully pulled out a chair and lay down on it, put his legs on the instrument table, and rocked gently.

"Is this mission easy? So quick?"

"You're asking this kind of question again. Be careful, or you'll be warned by the client. Many clients don't like others asking about the assignment."

"Isn't it because this mission is special? It count as extra income?"

"How is that possible? To be honest, we are still at a loss."

Al shrugged, seeming a little helpless.

"Killing someone with such a great reputation is a big risk for us, okay? And in the end, we only got a batch of [consumables], which is a huge loss! But the gang will handle it themselves, and we are also connected with them, so it's not a big loss."

Then he thought of something, raised the corners of his mouth slightly, and spoke in a light tone.

"From now on, you don't have to look for half of the consumables. Those guys will share some with us. It will be enough to train this rubbish."

"It's too much to call your future employees garbage."

"What are these death row inmates if not garbage? We are just giving them a chance to perform and warm up a little bit."

  Al looked disdainful.

"Alright, alright, I know you're good... Come on, you do it this time."

"Good man, you're lazy, aren't you?"

  "Hey~"

Listening to the frivolous voice of his colleague, Al raised his eyebrows but did not say much. He just chattered a few words anyway.

After glancing through the observation window and confirming that all parties in the room were present, Al picked up the microphone and spoke directly.

"Okay, now that we're all here, we can start."

Processed electronic sounds also sounded synchronously in the room.

After those "staff" locked the door and left, leaving only those guys who needed to be "tested" and consumables, Al's mouth corners raised again and he said jokingly.

"Next, please feel free to play as you please. Of course, it's still the same as before, only one person can come out."

After saying that, Al signaled his colleagues to turn off the microphone, while he continued to lie on the chair, leisurely watching... no, appreciating what was happening in the room.

"The garbage this time seems to be okay."

"Didn't you say that it's not nice to call future employees trash?"

  "But they are garbage."

Spreading his hands, the other party said confidently.

"The action is quick, and he takes the lives of others without hesitation. Hmm... he kills people regardless of gender, age, or status. Isn't that pretty good? It all depends on who has the better skills and survives in the end."

"Since they were trained by the same Master, I'm afraid I won't be able to break their moves..."

"That's why I said let's see who has the better skills~"

"But your methods and attitude are still not good enough. Let's go back and give them some more medicine and give them a few more blows."

Noticing that some "consumables" were still left behind, Al shook his head, seeming somewhat dissatisfied.

"I'm still too arrogant. I assume that I can still deal with the remaining few even if we both lose everything... Even if those people all have a mental breakdown and go crazy, they may still kill them. I underestimated the others... Ah, I always feel that this batch of people will be another one that can only be used a few times before being thrown away. It's like their heads were caught in a door."

"Perhaps in their minds, the few [similarly trained guys] around them are the biggest threat. They want to gain an advantage at the beginning and then eliminate the biggest threat in one go, and then slowly eliminate the other small fish."

"So it's like their brains are stuck in a door. Even if you're playing a game, you have to clear the minions first before fighting the boss. If you fail, it will be hilarious."

Al was not happy with this group of people.

As time passed, the scene in the room became more and more mysterious.

"...I think we'll have to reduce the size of the room in the future. There are still a bit too many safe areas."

Glancing at the devastated girl huddled in the corner and Xiwang huddled in the wall, Al curled his lips and made a suggestion.

"Yes, yes, you are right. Go and talk to the client and see if they are willing to change your practice venue."

  "That's fine."

It's not easy to get money out of those guys' pockets. They are so stingy... although they are quite generous when it comes to their own lives.

"... Tsk, these guys are not only trash but also mentally retarded... If they are just fighting each other, how can they complete the client's task?!"

Seeing that the collapsed girl and Xi Wang in the corner were still alive, Al curled his lips in annoyance. It was not that he was targeting the two little guys or anything, but mainly because the attitude of that trash was not correct - you can't kill the target you choose with one blow, and you don't clear up the unstable factors around you when you get into a fight, and you don't even know you are surrounded by others when you go on a mission later.

They always wanted to gain an advantage and solve the problem in one wave, but the result was that they were restrained by each other and couldn't even break away from the battle to rest, so they could only fight to the death here.

It was funny that I was finally picked up.

"It seems that this batch of garbage has been wasted...ah...it has gone from being recyclable and [reusable] to complete waste."

"At least it can be used a few more times. Don't be so pessimistic."

"But it's not worth it... We spent time, money, and manpower to train these rubbish, hoping that they can become [Swords], and this is the result?"

"Forget it, forget it. It's just a waste of a batch. It doesn't matter... huh?"

Al raised his eyebrows when he noticed Xiwang's movements.

"…What is this little guy doing? Dragging the corpse? Is he planning to pick up something from the corpse?"

The colleagues standing by obviously also noticed Xi Wang's strange behavior.

"It looks like they are collecting corpses."

Seeing that Xi Wang did not do anything with the corpses, and did not even have the intention of searching the corpses, he simply dragged the corpses out of the chaotic fighting scene and tidied up the appearance of the dead.

"Pfft... this kid is quite interesting."

When they got this answer, they both laughed out loud almost at the same time.

"Where did this innocent little fellow come from... He's still thinking about collecting corpses at this time."

The colleague next to him checked the list of [Consumables] and found out that Xi Wang was traded from that group of guys.

"Hey... that's interesting. If I remember correctly, those guys all had criminal records, either murderers or drug addicts. How come there's such a compassionate guy among them? This kid doesn't look like someone who would kill someone."

"He was forced to do it. You know how brutal those guys are. Maybe one of them was killed by this guy... Hmm? Oh? Interesting..."

Al suddenly remembered the [mission] he had carried out before, as well as the deal proposed by those guys, and seemed to have thought of something.

"Ha~ It looks like they want to use us to deal with the aftermath. We've been tricked again... As expected, we're still no match for those foxes."

Al, who has figured out the key points, doesn't care. As long as the connection is established, there will always be people who will become their customers.

As for this little guy who needs to be dealt with...it depends on his efforts~

  It's just a [consumable] anyway…?

Just as Al was thinking this, he saw Xi Wang being stabbed one by one by the young girl and the dying middle-aged man.

Al was not surprised. After all, the only people who could come here were those who were hated by society and those with criminal records. The former were those who posed a threat to ordinary people or harmed society, but at the same time were not taken seriously. The latter could be briefly described as criminals or fugitives, neither of whom were good people.

After all, they are [consumables] specially used to test trainees, so it is appropriate to pick these unwanted personnel. They are threatening, but not big to trainees. Besides, others don't mind, and no one cares. Even cleaning them out can be considered as [eliminating harm to the people]. Such people have excellent cost-effectiveness as [consumables].

So Al was not surprised that Xi Wang would be attacked. After all, the guys who could come here didn't mind taking up weapons to hurt others. The only difference was the degree.

So Al would find it funny that there's a guy like Xi Wang mixed in with [Consumables] - those guys could force the little guy [who was still overflowing with sympathy even in such an extreme situation] to kill someone, which only shows that those guys are perverted.

But soon, Al changed his mind.

He could see Xiwang's expression through the observation window and could tell that Xiwang's cognition and rationality had collapsed and reorganized. This was natural. It was more like it was rare for someone like him to hold on until now before collapsing. However, he was able to adjust his mentality and reorganize his cognition so quickly... He could only sigh that this kid's psychological quality was too horrible.

And this kid...seems to be very talented.

After neatly dealing with the girl, Xi Wang took a breath and began to look back at the melee among the [trainees], then began to seize the opportunity to steal people.

He did not go up to fight directly but threw corpses to hinder them. He threw the bodies of the young girl and the middle-aged man one after another. He chose the timing very well and successfully hindered the trainees who were forced to the edge, resulting in those unlucky guys being seized the opportunity and killed with one blow.

When Al saw this, he wanted to laugh - you see, after a long fight, the "outsider" caught the opportunity and then overturned, right? Served it right!

The next scene made Al laugh out loud - a few guys, while attacking those unlucky guys who were hindered by the corpses, were thinking about attacking other people as well, wanting to kill many people at a time... To put it bluntly, they were just greedy!

Even though they had already discovered Xi Wang's abnormality and that a variable had appeared, they were still unwilling to take the initiative to resolve this variable... Ah, but that's true. After all, it was impossible for them to cooperate with each other and they had to guard against each other's sneak attacks.

What's more, in their perception, how could a kid who came from nowhere be more difficult to deal with than a "companion" who has undergone the same training as themselves and is just as ruthless?

So they still underestimated the enemy and put Xi Wang's threat level at the last level.

  Such arrogance is disgusting.

"Sometimes I wonder if there's something wrong with our medicine, or the dosage... Why are these people so stupid? How about we change the medicine? Or develop a new one?"

Al held his forehead in pain.

"Do you want to hear what you're saying?"

The colleague next to him rolled his eyes.

"But it's not impossible to understand their thinking, right? Who made them unable to cooperate?"

"After all, only one person can come out~"

"Why, do you think that boy will survive?"

"It's possible. After all, sometimes... Genius is hard to understand."

Al narrowed his eyes and paid attention to Xiwang's movements... He had noticed it when Xiwang avoided fatal attacks several times before, but he didn't care at that time. After all, although Xiwang could avoid the fatal parts of the attack, he would still be injured. As long as the injuries accumulated, he would die.

But now... Xi Wang showed a kind of [talent] that made him sigh.

Now Xiwang has entered the stage of fighting with the remaining trainees. Thanks to the desperate fight with those idiots before, they have consumed a lot of physical strength and have injuries on their bodies. Their overall combat effectiveness has decreased a lot. Although this cannot eliminate the gap between Xiwang and them, it has shortened it a little.

The most important thing is... those guys found out that Xiwang was [stealing] the "skills" they used. Many of them were just small movements that could hinder their opponents, but Xiwang could learn them and then use them on them.

The gap in skills is narrowing at a very fast pace.

If Xi Wang's physical fitness was not yet as good as theirs, they would have felt like they were fighting against themselves, just like looking in the mirror.

Just when they were gradually getting used to Xi Wang, the sudden appearance of the character, they were disturbed by Xi Wang's suddenly accelerated attack rhythm. Then Xi Wang seized the opportunity and solved the problem directly with his astonishing explosive power, exchanging injuries for lives.

In the end, they couldn't figure out where this kid Xi Wang came from. Was he also a "trainee"? Was he just a sixth-in-command?

What on earth was that explosive power that could wrestle with them and even almost overwhelm them? How could a child have such power? Was he born with supernatural powers?

And the avoidance of fatal attacks was too outrageous. It was expected that he could be killed, but he managed to dodge it with that weird burst.

But their thoughts no longer mattered, after all, they were already dead.

  And now...

"Wuhu~It looks like we are lucky... No, we should say we made a fortune."

Al stood up from his chair quite happily.

"I found a very good seedling... no, I should say a genius!"

"You know what? Old friend, I have a feeling this kid can become our best [Knife]."

"Yes, yes, Al, whatever you say is right. I don't have much say in this matter anyway."

The colleague beside him seemed helpless and responded perfunctorily.

"But this is all thanks to those guys, right? Those beasts did a good thing in this matter."

  "Well... yes, thanks to them."

  Al narrowed his eyes, thinking.

"I have to thank them very much…"

Al glanced inside the room and seemed to have a great idea, the smile on his face widening a little.

At this time, Xi Wang was the only one left in the room. He was wiping the blood off his face with the only remaining clean area on his clothes while walking towards the still-locked door. The numerous injuries on his body seemed non-existent to him.

  "Dongdong——"

Xi Wang walked to the door and knocked twice politely, as if to remind the people outside that [the conditions for opening the door have been met].

Soon the door opened, and a young man with an ordinary look, even ordinary appearance, stood outside the door with a group of "staff members". The young man had a smile on his face and seemed very happy.

"I never thought you would survive... Although it's a bit unexpected, congratulations on passing the [assessment] and successfully joining us. From now on, you will be one of my employees~"

"...I guess I don't have the power to refuse, right?"

Xi Wang looked at him and spoke in a very calm tone.

  "That's right."

  "...Can I make some conditions?"

"Of course, privileges have always been open only to [excellent] people, not to mention [geniuses], but..."

The young man spoke in a brisk tone and then gave a slight warning.

  "Only one."

  "I want to see someone."

Xi Wang thought for a moment and then spoke.

"I want to see a priest named [Enrique]."

'She should still be there' Xi Wang thought so.

  "…No problem."

The young man did not hesitate too much and agreed quickly as if Xi Wang's request was not beyond his expectations.

"But your injuries still need some treatment... Don't worry, as my employee, you will have basic medical insurance. As for the person you want to meet... I will help you arrange it."

After looking at Xi Wang again, the young man smiled with satisfaction, then snapped his fingers lightly, signaling others to take Xi Wang to heal his wounds first, and said that he still had things to deal with.

  "......"

Xi Wang stared at him for a while, and finally chose to follow his arrangements - he had no choice.

After resting for two days, the young man took Xiwang out as promised, preparing to meet Father Enrique.

As for the location, it is in the cemetery.
