This was a magical wave that killed a person once exposed to it.

Luckily, the displacement wave placed him close to their destination where he was found, alive and well to the disbelieve of everybody.
 
Unbeknownst to him at the time, the cosmic mana wave had awakened a gift within him that would propel him to the ranks of hero hunter and beyond, granting him the strength to lead humanity in their efforts to determine the cause of their universe's change and its implications.

Even with his awakened talents and the benefits he received from the 'accident' that should have killed him, he now finds himself stuck and unable to level up as mana does not work on him like everyone else.

The Veilwalker

Zol Knight appeared in the combat systems, right before the pod Alex slept in. The bots in charge of everything noticed his presence the moment he appeared, but his authority kept them in place.

He was more than qualified to be here, even without an instructor's ID.

Hunter Zol peered at Alex's pod, narrowing his eyes as he studied the expression on Alex's sleeping face visible through the small glass opening around the head area.

The aura from the void energy emanating from him was more potent than Alex had revealed earlier. 'This is different. Something is different,' he thought in silence.

He brought back his screen and watched as Alex fought the void creatures with everything he had, running around and evading all the attacks thrown at him.

The boy's expression was stern, and his eyes betrayed the fear he was trying to conceal. Zol's attention returned to the pod, and he noticed how Alex's brows furrowed.
