"Ha…ha…ha..."
Breathing roughly as he dropped to one knee and his hand on his uneven chest, Jiang Feng turned to look at his back from the corner of his eyes. Seeing the ground full of the fallen stone sculptures, he was finally unable to hold on as he went limb and fell on his back.
"…ouch…I guess it wasn't a good idea to be this rash." Jiang Feng murmured to himself as he stared at his left leg.
Near the thigh, there was a long slice wound where the blood already dried up. The wound was gotten when Jiang Feng suddenly rushed forward and launched unpredictable attacks on the stone sculptures, ending the rest of them in just 5 minutes.
Although a lot of time was saved, he accidentally got himself a wound from one of the sculpture's scythe as it significantly slowed his movements down due to how painful it was.
'Thankfully, the cut isn't the deep. Else, I might not be able to finish the rest of the challenge.'
Standing up after resting for a short while, Jiang Feng stood back up as he went to pick up his backpack.
Although he knew it was wrong to do so since the umbrella wasn't actually his, Jiang Feng decided to leave the umbrella behind since he couldn't really use the sword well if he had to keep both of his hands occupied with something.
Proceeding to the next room, the familiar voice sounded in his head again.
"The individual 'Jiang Feng' has passed the second challenge"
While the voice notified him about his success in his head, Jiang Feng focused on examining the room he was in.
"There's nothing…."
Murmuring to himself, Jiang Feng looked at the room dumbfoundedly as he saw nothing that could possibly be a challenge. In the end, his gaze landed on the lectern placed in the middle of the room.
Surrounding the lectern was some sort of formation carved into the smooth floor below. The formation was filled with weird symbols similar to the ones Jiang Feng saw on the stone gate outside, and the lectern was also coincidentally placed in the center of the formation.
Wanting to see if there was something special about the formation and the lectern, Jiang Feng held the sword tight with both of his hands as he moved forward. However, just as he took a step into the formation, the voice sounded in his head again.
"The individual 'Jiang Feng' has stepped into the teleportation formation"
"Please drip a drop of blood onto the lectern."
'Drip a drop of blood onto the lectern?'
As his eyes stared at the dusty surface of the lectern, Jiang Feng subconsciously gulped as he thought of the possibilities of things that might happen to him once he dripped his blood onto it. However, knowing there was only one way out of this hell of a weird place, he quickly steeled himself and brought the sword to his finger tip.
"Hiss~"
Biting his lips in a moment of pain, Jiang Feng twisted and extended his hands as a drop of his blood dripped off and landed onto the lectern.
As soon as the blood came into contact with the lectern, the formation beneath his foot lit up with the same soft blue light he saw on the barrier outside.
The next second, the light embraced him as it blinded his eyes. The room also became brightly lit as it seemed to have turned into a white room in an instant. After a short while, this bright light dimmed down, but where Jiang Feng stood earlier, his figure was nowhere to be found.
…
Somewhere in the world, an intense blue light shone from the exact same teleportation formation in a cave somewhere faraway from Jiang Feng's home. Seconds later, the light dimmed as Jiang Feng's figure was seen standing on top of the formation.
Holding his head as he shut his eyes tight, Jiang Feng's figure was shaking around as he almost tripped onto the ground. Luckily, his hand held onto the lectern as it supported his shaky body until Jiang Feng was back to normal.
'Ugh, why did I suddenly become dizzy? …Is it because of the teleportation formation?'
Looking at the teleportation formation beneath him, Jiang Feng couldn't help but be reminded of the experience that he just went through.
After the formation lit up, the intense light blinded him as his senses turned numb. They returned normal a few seconds afterwards but Jiang Feng hoped they didn't.
Why?
Well, the moment they returned, he immediately felt like he was on a rollercoaster that had infinite loops. What was worse, was that the speed of the rollercoaster is at least 50, no, 100 times faster than an ordinary rollercoaster!
"I never want to ride a rollercoaster again."
Covering his mouth after saying so, Jiang Feng looked around him as he tried to find clues about what his challenge could be. He quickly noticed that he was now in another cave with nothing but a pond the size of half a football field.
Walking towards its edges, Jiang Feng looked down and saw his reflection on the still surface of the water. A weird fact about this pond, was that despite the cave he was in possibly being underground, the water was glistening with star-like glitter in it. Not sure if it was actually glitter or not though.
"The third challenge will now commence."
"Please step into the pond."
Being fully alert for any kind of danger he might face, Jiang Feng stepped into the pond as a warm feeling enveloped his foot. Despite being surprised by the warmth felt from his leg, Jiang Feng didn't stop moving as he quickly submerged the other into the pond, walking towards its center.
Reaching the pond's center, the voice sounded again as it gave the next instructions.
"The individual 'Jiang Feng' will now be given 10 minutes to recover in the 'Spiritual Pond'."
"Countdown starts now."
Feeling utterly confused by the voice's words, Jiang Feng continued to stand still as he tried to figure out what he was supposed to do. Well, he knew what to do, he just didn't know how.
'The voice said I was given time to recover in this spiritual pool, but how?' Jiang Feng thought to himself as he stared at the water's surface. Just then, an idea popped up into his mind as he dipped the finger he cut with his sword earlier into the water.
After a few seconds or so, he brought the finger close to his eyes and quickly saw a shocking change. The wound that he made earlier had now fully healed with no scars or blood visible on it.
Making this discovery, Jiang Feng quickly got down on his knees, wetting his jeans in the process. After waiting for a short while, he got back up again and quickly checked the tear on his jeans, where the slice wound caused by the stone sculptures from the second challenge was at.
"It's healed!"
