Escape From the Sect.

Li Chen slowly walked out of the room, holding the sword with a firm gaze.

"I just need to escape from this damn sect," he mused in his heart.

After walking a couple of meters, he heard many miserable cries, most of which were screams for help.

But he did not bat an eye in their direction as he was planning his escape in his mind.

Just as he reached the intersection that would lead him toward the sect gate, a boy stood with a lifeless expression.

Li Chen and the boy stared at each other for a couple of seconds before the boy made a move.

His steps were neither slow nor fast. As a cultivator, their physique was a lot stronger than ordinary humans.

Watching the boy approach him, Li Chen held his breath and gripped his sword firmly.

"According to the movie, I just need to cut off their head," he muttered with eyes flashing with determination.

With his prey right in front of him, an eerily screech came from the boy, and its head split into four. Each section of the split head was laced with rows of jagged teeth.

"Holy Molly!" Li Chen exclaimed and jumped back in fear.

His back was covered in sweat and his heart thumped heavily against his chest. His instinct was telling him to race back to his room and hide, but he knew better.

In the apocalypse, hiding in an ordinary room without any resources to depend on was just a pipe dream.

Thus, he steeled his resolve and waited for the boy. With the boy right in front, he swung his sword clumsily toward the boy's head.

Whoosh!

Thud!

The sword severed his head, rolling on the ground, and the headless boy fell to the ground.

"Huh! That was close," he mused, wiping off the beads of sweat from his forehead.

Taking a deep breath, he looked at the chaos in the distance and shivered. Without wasting any second, he took the path toward the sect gate.

As he was rushing toward the gate, he encountered two more zombies but with his previous experience, he managed to kill them off by chopping off their heads.

Just as he was rushing toward the gate, he heard many rapid incoming footsteps.

"What the fuck!" He exclaimed in his mind.

Right behind him, he saw many disciples running for their lives, screaming for help.

He was confused. What the hell was chasing them?

Though he was confused, he increased his pace from a light jog to a full sprint.

Seeing their fellow disciple in front of them, they shouted at him to wait for them.

"Idiot! Who would wait for you?" Li Chen sneered and pushed his speed to the limit.

Thud!

AHHHHHH!

Right behind the hundreds of disciples, a middle-aged man dressed in an outer elder robe appeared with his head split into four.

In a swift motion, he ate the head of a slow female disciple in one motion.

Watching one of their elders eating one of them, the disciples screamed in despair.

At once, the disciples scattered, escaping in every direction. But the outer elder was extremely fast.

In a couple of seconds, he had eaten five disciples with a burp of satisfaction escaping from its jagged mouth.

As for Li Chen, the scene behind him only served to steel his resolve to escape from this hellhole.

The Kunlun Sword Sect was a massive sect with thousands of disciples. The Sect was dated back to over a thousand years.

But now, such a sect was in chaos and could not withstand the arrival of the apocalypse.

Li Chen ran past the martial arena and encountered a scene that left him speechless.

Hundreds of disciples were fighting the zombies with their eyes filled with bravery.

The disciples were led by a middle-aged woman dressed in an outer sect robe.

From the memory, he knew this elder. She was a kind elder that many of the outer disciples loved: Elder Lan.

Elder Lan had the most terrifying strike, each strike blasting off the zombies to pieces. However, under the horror of the stream of zombies, it amounted to nothing.

As for Li Chen, he stood in a dilemma. He did not want to join this battle, but this was the shortest route to the gate.

The other path would take a longer time, and who knew how many zombies were crawling on such a path?

"Fuck it!" He cursed and joined the battle.

Whoosh!

He slashed his sword, cutting off the head of a zombie. However, instead of waiting for another zombie, he rushed forward.

At first, his action did not gather the attention of the disciples. But as he continued to venture deeper into the horde of zombies, everyone began to notice him.

"Is that not the trash? How is he not dead?" Ziheng sneered.

Ziheng was the strongest outer disciple with a handsome face.

In addition, he came from a prominent clan, thus, making him the dream of every girl.

"I guess he's lucky," Jiao responded with equal disdain, fighting a couple of feet from him.

She was Ziheng's woman and would support her man in everything.

She was revered as the goddess of the outer disciples with many boys at her disposal.

Looking at Li Chen, who was trying to show himself by killing off these beasts or whatever they might be, irked her to no end.

As for Li Chen, he did not care about them. His only goal was to leave the sect as quickly as possible.

Watching him going further than anyone else, Elder Lan was surprised and noticed how he was killing the zombies easily.

"Everyone target their head," she commanded.

Quickly, the disciples changed their target and began to attack the zombies' heads.

Watching how easy they were now killing the zombies, they couldn't help but be proud and were already anticipating the reward they would gain from the sect when this was over.

Unfortunately for them, they celebrated too soon.

Li Chen would have advised them to leave the sect as quickly as possible. But watching their disdainful expression, he decided to leave everyone to their fate.

Since their pride still clouded their brain from the sudden reality of their world.

He couldn't wait to see them when reality hit them hard that the world they knew was gone.

Drenched in blood and his palm aching from the continuous swing of the sword.

He grimaced in annoyance. "What a weak body!"

Just from the continuous swing of the sword, his palm had swollen, covered in bruises.

He wanted to rest, but looking at the terrifying heads of the zombies, he gritted his teeth and continued.

Just as he was about to kill the last line of zombies on his path. He heard a miserable scream from behind, and when he turned his head. He saw something that left him speechless.
