Panic

「 CHAPTER 2: Panic 」

Shortly after the introductions, Zedric opened the flat screen tv between the two white boards in front and played the presentation he prepared for this class orientation.

At the same time, Kayden was lost in his own thoughts.

I am actually really looking forward to this. I am excited to what I'll be experiencing this college.

Suddenly, he felt tugging down on the end of his sleeve. He turned to face who it was and It was Cad.

"Dude, what? I'm trying to listen!" He quietly asked Cad, to which Cad replied quietly.

"Look outside the window, there's something weird flying at the sky."

One of their classmate was bothered by their loud whispering and turned to look at them with an angry expression. But before he could scold the two, more students started to notice the strange figure at the sky.

The whole class stood up and got loud almost immediately despite Zedric being inside with them. Kayden would also stood up curiously approaching the glass pane window of their classroom. He squinted his eyes trying to get a better look of the strange figure but it was useless.

Everyone started pulling out their phones and started video recording and some used the camera to get a better look. And that was the time when one of his classmate said:

"Is that? Is that a dragon?..."

Very confused and skeptical, Kayden also pulled out his phone and opened his camera. With this he zoomed in up to ten times to the figure and when he did, his heart dropped.

Soon, everyone realized what it was. They began to question whether to believe or not.

"A dragon? That's Impossible!"

"Oh my god! It's Shenron!"

"Guys, It's my ride home I'll be going.."

While some were skeptical and some were making jokes and making fun of the situation, Kayden was serious.

It's absolutely absurd to think there would be a real life dragon here. They must be doing a movie– Is what I would say and believe but I don't see any structures, wires or even a helicopter to make that thing stay mid-air.

But then, a loud roar coming from the direction of the figure was heard. The buildings shook, lights flickered, and windows shattered. This Immediately made everyone panic. The classroom that was once filled with laughter and noise, was now filled with screams of terror.

Kayden stood froze, terrified by the loud roar– his face was wounded by a cut from the glass window shards that shattered. He remained speechless as the entire class was running and screaming It's as if his brain was still processing what just happened.

He looked around to see that all of his classmates were running, sprinting, even praying. There were some wounded but thankfully there was no casualties. Some tried to contact the police or get help from outside the school but to their luck, there was no service and the school power mysteriously went out.

A few more thundering roars from the dragon came and made everyone screamed and panic more. Kayden looked again outside the shattered window and his eyes widened, his skin turned pale and his hand trembled. He noticed that the dragon was now much closer than last time. Even if the whole school was in chaos, he could still hear the loud flapping of its wings.

S..Shit! I have to get out of here!

Kayden forced his frozen legs to move and began to look for the exit.

Cad! Where's Cad!

He suddenly remembered his friend and began to find him before getting out for safety. He looked to his right and saw Cad quietly sitting down the chair. Their classroom became empty and all of the chairs were scattered around with some even broken.

He ran towards Cad and yelled:

"Man let's get the fuck out of here! We need to leave and get to where it's safe! The dragon is getting closer come one!"

Kayden was about to continue yelling but he stopped. He saw Cad smiling as he looked at the dragon. To which Cad said:

"Isn't It beautiful? That dragon. I never once in my life thought I'd be able to see a dragon, hell I thought they never existed!"

Kayden furrowed his eyebrows and asked Cad: "Wh... What the fuck are you trying to say right now? I don't understand."

"You know, It's been almost a decade since we last saw each other, last time was when we were kids. Good times, good times. But in the presence of something like that shit, we can't do anything against that."

Despite of the chaos happening around them, Cad's voice was clear and loud and almost no fear into his voice.

Kayden remained speechless. For some reason he didn't felt scared, It's as if a heavy feeling on his chest has finally went away. He stopped trembling and casually looked st the dragon coming to their school at an alarming speed.

By that time, the two never spoke a word. They remained silent as they watch the dragon drawing closer and closer at them until the last thing they heard was rumbling and crumbling of the building walls.
