Chapter 12

When the morning came, the men gathered their needs and got ready to leave. "We are two days late; we must go fast to make up for the difference."

The deputy of Orig said, Taya looked with her eyes for Orig; she did not find him any where, so she returned to sit in her seat in the cart.

The convoy set off without Taya realizing that Orig had already gone up to secure the way with some men.

"Damn, why did they avoid the road of the forest? It's the most safety for us from the course of the river," she whispered to get her head out of the carriage, until she saw Orig's sharp looks, telling her to return to her seat and remain silent.

"This road is full of bandits; we should change our path."

Her voice was so loud that its echo had gone too far. 'Huh, uh, it looks like I said it out loud, huh' thought as she swallowed her saliva. Like this, she would determine for everyone where they were; even these enemies would find their location.

"Your grace, you're the dumbest person I've ever met without insults; can't you sit down and be silent? That's too much; it's enough for you to play the role of the savior and the person who knows about things before they happen; stop it, okay?"

Orig said through the carriage window.

Taya dared to play distracted, gazing at her fingernail, rolling her eyes as if he were not talking to her; if he were with her inside, he would have wiped the floor with her.

His men were surprised by his patience; he never treated a woman in such softness. Along the way, no danger appeared to them. Taya felt that she might have worried too much, so she relaxed.

A number of arrows started heading towards them. Some men were injured, but that did not affect their morale. Orig was fighting three men at the same time.

"Where did these people appear?"

One of the men of Orig, who heard Taya's loud cry, said.

Orig felt that his blood was boiling when the man pulled his wife out of her hair and made her fall to the ground.

Those three heads that fell near Orig made these men retreat in terror; their blood was still dripping from his sword. In the blink of an eye, Orig was behind the man who was holding Taya's forearm; he beat him so hard that he only begged him to kill him.

Mr. Aryo helped Taya to stand, watching Orig, who had completely lost control of himself; this brutal side of him, she had seen it before; it did not cause her any great shock or collapse; she was rather calm.

"You kicked his head out; before we extracted the information from him, he was the last of them who were alive," said the deputy of Orig, rubbing his head and giving the towel to Orig, who wiped the blood on his hand and face.

Orig with the edge of his eyes, he stared at his wife Taya; he surveyed her entire body; he was a little worried that she got heart.

His looks were normal and as if she was used to the bloody sight. 'If this dress was not long, these bandits would have taught them a lesson,'

She thought, hiding her hand, which was trembling; she was scared; they surprised them; she felt sorry because she might be the reason why bandits attacked them.

"Let's go, men; we have to move."

Orig said in a sharp tone to stare at the healer, telling him to hurry up; his steps were heading towards Taya, who was standing, immersed in her thoughts.

"Did you not hear my words? Come to the cart."

Orig said coldly; it was a harsh tone. Taya raised her gaze; she was not in a position to respond to him, so she took a step towards the cart but almost fell, so he caught her. His recent was strong and caused her heart to skip a beat.

"Are you okay? That damned one didn't hurt you right?"

Said Orig, as he carried her into the carriage, Taya was hiding her crooked ankle, as a result of her fall, his scorching gaze was staring at her, he slowly raising her dress, her ankle was red, biting his teeth in anger.

"I'm sorry, you've been hurting because of me, your men get wounded because of me, sory, "

She whispered, staring at the men who were hit through the window.

'Is this girl normal? She witnessed a massacre in front of her eyes, and on top of her she was harmed, and all she wanted was to apologize for someone else's accident,'

Orig thought, taking cold water, and rubbing her ankle, she groaned, holding his shoulder, her hot breath were on his neck.

'Is she doing all this to distract me from her real intention? Is she trying to seduce me so as not to kill her?'

Orig thought, staring at her painful facial features.

"That's enough, try not to move with it,"

Said Orig, finishing treating Taya's ankle with a piece of cloth.

"Thank you,"

Taya replied, Orig never had any interest in her body wounds in the past, she has never seen this gentle side of him, or he has always been like this and she had never raised her eyes to meet his own to know.

"Are you trying to sympathize me?"

He said, staring at her with cold looks, Taya felt the urge to laugh, but she could hold herself back.

"Don't raise your expectations, you're not my favourite nor my standard, anyway, why I can't thank you for saving me, how odd you are,"

Taya spoke out giving him those looks that tell him that she really doesn't care about him, and his mind's work was back to normal.

"If that's the case then fine,"

He whispered, closing the door of the cart, his words were hesitant in her mind.
