Bobo! III

The moment the Four-Link Beast of Corruption appeared, its gaze had honed in on Claire alone as this was its purpose.

And the most catastrophic thing was that the only way any word about Claire could have spread to a Beast of Corruption such as this…was through the mouth of Humans.

Someone within the City of Carthage, or any of the distant surrounding City Fortresses had communicated such critical information about a powerful upcoming Gem Master to the Beasts of Corruption!

Who?

Why?

Someone from their Asmodeus Bloodline, or one of the other three Human Lineages?

Alexander's mind was buzzing with all the possibilities as he remembered his father's words.

At times, humans could be worse than monsters.

"Dare. To Scheme. Against Bobo?!"

…!

The frozen earth splintered below the massive beast.

It brought its thick right hand on one of the gems on its chest- a crimson light flashing before Bobo grasped something…and pulled it out from the crimson Gem.

Wondrously, an obsidian spiked bat made out of crystalline materials was pulled out of the support ability Socket- something that caused the ashen gazes of those running away to become even blacker as this represented a dreadful spatial element.

"Scheme. Against. Bobo?!"

BOOM!

The massive club smashed onto the frozen earth as like a speedy mountain, the Beast flung itself forward again.

Alexander's senses told him many things.

It's trajectory. It's speed. And just how painful it would be if this massive thing ever smashed into him.

He then felt the rapidly spinning Enneagram Life Socket on his chest that seemed to be heating up and spinning ever faster in the middle of all this, his mind feeling tremendous strength from it that calmed his beating heart.

He could do this.

For his own sake.

For the sake of his Father.

For the revenge he still wanted to take against those who took away what was most precious!

Beasts of Corruption like these…were the reason why.

He felt the anger and hatred that was always submerged against the specific Beasts of Corruption that killed his mother.

The Elven Beasts of Corruption that could speak human language fluently.

Why did he only reserve his hatred for them?

Even this Beast of Corruption before him came from the same camp!

DUM!

The beat of his heart came, but it did not bring him clarity this time around.

It further roused his anger and directed it as Alexander no longer wanted to be laid back.

He wanted to release these heavy emotions. He wanted to prove to himself that he could at the very least take care of this Beast in front of him if he was to target the even more terrifying Elven Beasts of Corruption in the future!

For the first time in his life, he felt like screaming.

And so, while an average of black fur surged towards him, he screamed.

"OOOH!"

A scream of anger from the depths of his heart. 

It was met with a swing of a massive obsidian club that darkened the skies above them and threatened to turn him and Claire into pulps of meat, but a blast of ice rose up to meet it!

Ice Wave.

BOOM!

The descending club never reached as even the hand swinging it down froze, the Black Furred Gorilla roaring out as tendrils of crimson light surrounded it again.

But an explosive force cracked the ice and flung the club upwards before it became encased in ice once more, and another subsequent explosion occurred that flung both the club and the Black Furred Gorilla that held it back.

The support ability Gems on his chest continued to show their wonders as once more, the Four-Link Beast of Corruption was pushed back.

And this time, Alexander didn't wait for it to strike first as feeling the strength of his body, he spoke to the girl behind him while he shot towards the Black Furred Gorilla.

"Run."

…!

His figure jumped towards the massive beast, the scene being etched in the hearts of all those watching and running as Gem Master Azazel roared out while he also followed.

"Do not engage, Young Master! We will hold it back while you and Lady Claire retreat!"

The veteran Gem Master wanted to do his job.

But…Alexander's voice came out just as robust and with surety.

"You will die."

Yes.

As his figure flashed over five meters high in a single jump, he told Gem Master Azazel and any other Three-Link Gem Masters what their fate would be if they neared this Beast- or if its attention actually changed to them.

So…

[Ice Wave]

Alexander called out to life force surging in his body once more as without giving the Black Furred Gorilla any time to regain its momentum in the skies, he released another glacial wave of ice that froze its figure entirely.

And once more, the ice then exploded as Alexander pointed up!

BOOM!

The Black Furred Gorilla bellowed out in rage and pain as it was flung further to the skies.

Even before its bellows continued, it was frozen yet again before the glacier of ice surrounding him once more exploded and pushed its massive body ever higher.

Into the skies.

The figure of Alexander that was almost beginning to fall pointed with his right hand down as a small blast of Ice Wave erupted beneath him, propelling his body higher in the skies as well in an utterly astonishing scene.

A single Awakened Gem Master was freezing and flinging a massive Four-Link Beast of Corruption ever higher in the skies.

On the ground below, the earth was shaking as a flood of black furred creatures spilled out of the Breach in the skies.

Gem Master Todd reached Claire's figure that was defiantly about to take to the skies towards Alexander as this Gem Master actually tackled her down.

With fear present in his eyes, he yelled out towards her struggling figure.

"Lady Claire! Please! For the sake of your father, retreat. That beast is only one, there are hundreds of its kin coming behind us. Once your life force is spent, you will be nothing but meat on a platter!"

She had been using her power these past two hours to attack the Emerald Tree Boas.

Nobody knew how much of her life force she had left, but she could definitely overdraw if she also joined the fight against a Four-Link Gem Master!

He knew this.

She also knew this.

And yet…

"I cannot leave him!"

She shouted out while gritting her teeth, a burst of lightning erupting from her wings of Lightning and pushing away Gem Master Todd as she rose to the skies as well.

Her eyes were firm.

Her mind was made up.

She relied on Alexander, yes. But it didn't mean she had to be helpless. After all, she was a Five-Link Gem Master. And this Beast of Corruption before them was a Four-Link Beast.

Her power should be able to work against it!
