Chapter 3: Black Gate (2)

"What kind of game?" Lloyd was the first to inquire.

After closing the pot and slowly walking out of the room, the emo-looking girl said, "It's like tag."

She then stopped at the door frame. "But instead we have a killer. We must also hide from the killer. Whoever the killer tags dies and once we find the dead body, we have to find out who killed them."

"You don't mean literally, right?" the girl with the beanie asked in a low and shy voice.

"Of course not," said Lloyd immediately.

Sophia began to mumble to herself. "Somehow that reminds of a movie I watched but can't quite remember."

The emo girl then left the room. "I start the game when all the lights are out."

After a few minutes, the candle light blew out. Leaving the room and the entire house dark.

"AAAHHHH! Kevin?" a feminine voice exclaimed and inquired in the darkness.

The room was entirely dark and no light could be seen. Soon, the sound of someone getting up and running out of the room could be heard.

Another exclaimed could be heard. "Kevin! Don't leave me!"

The sound of another person getting up and running out of the room could be heard. But this time, a loud collision would be heard after a few seconds.

"Ahh," Sophia groaned in pain in the dark.

After that, the third, fourth, and fifth person leaves the room. This meant that only one person was left on the room.

"Well, I guess it's time to hide," he said to himself in the dark.

He slowly walked out in the dark hallway casually without bumping into anything or anyone. It was as if he was familiar with the house himself.

"Good thing I memorized the lay-out of this place," Lloyd said with a hint of confidence.

Lloyd suddenly halted. "This should be the staircase to the third floor."

He then took a step. His toe then hit one the stairs and he tripped, falling face first.

"Too bad that I didn't reach here to memorize this."

On the first floor was Sophia. She was trying to find a way to exit the house. The place was dark, pitch black, making Sophia unable to see.

She was stretching out her hands and was uncontrollably bumping into things. "Ugh, I can't see anything! Not even my hands."

"Oh.. my phone!" said Sophia as she reached for her pockets.

She took out her phone, turned it on and turned on the flashlight.

"I can see," she said. "Now it's time to get out of this dump."

Suddenly, a finger tap on her shoulder. She was both confused and shocked.

She turned around. "Huh? Kevin?"

A dark figured emerged infront Sophia.

"Wait, your not tall- - oof," she was the cut off.

The figure then chopped her carotid artery. "I'm taller than you for christ sake."

She fell unconscious and landed on the floor with a thud.

"So I got three. But I don't know were the rest are," said the dark figure. "Hopefully he finds them quickly so I can get some sleep."

Upstairs, their was other dark figure who was quite bulky. He was carrying Natasha, the girl with the beanie, on top his right shoulder.

"After finding this one wanderer and after that, I have seen anyone else," said the figure with a deep voice. "But I can tell that their are more left."

The figure sighed. "I need a smoke."

The male then took out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter from his right pockets, after placing Natasha on the ground carefully. He took a single cigarette from the pack and lit it.

"Oh..." the man said as he inhaled. "My senses aren't the sharpest, but I do believe that I saw someone."

The man then dropped the lighter. Suddenly, a gust of wind came towards him. He received a right hook in the face followed by a left. After the combo, he took another deadly uppercut to the jaw.

"Kid..." said the masked figure slowly. "Don't even bother fighting."

The man retaliated with a punch of his own. He tightened his huge and tough fist and launched it towards his assaulter's head.

Vinny green eyes saw the attack coming. He raised his guard and prepared for it to land. The punch landed on his two wrist. He was sent flying back, off his feet. Vinny crashed into the wall behind that broke his knock back.

Vinny groaned in agony. "Argh! It feels like my hands are broken."

"Huh?" Vinny inquired.

He looked upwards and saw a large shadow clenching it's huge fist in the air. Vinny saw the attack and dodged by quickly crawling away.

Vinny launched another attack. He landed a flying knee into his attacker's face. As soon as he landed on the ground, he grabbed the back of the attacker's neck and began to throw a barrage of punches to the large figure's liver.

But none of those punches did any damage to his attacker's. The large figure tossed a left hook at Vinny's face, but he narrowly ducked and evaded the attack.

He retreated backwards and began to recover his stamina.

"Damnit. I can't get through this guy's defense," he said with a little grin on his face. "His way of fighting seems to be strength and endurance, meaning that speed and technique is my best bet."

After pondering, Vinny sprinted towards the figure. He landed a punch the male chest and quickly landed an elbow before retreating backwards from an incoming punch from his attack.

"I can't get caught," Vinny said.

He then landed multiple kicks to the side of the attacker's body, all of them doing nothing. The large figure reached after his leg but Vinny quickly outmaneuvered him and landed a very powerful kick to the man's jaw.

Vinny's luck eventually ran out, as the attack he landed on the large male's jaw made him vulnerable enough for the figure to grab his leg.

"Uh oh," he said.

The figure dragged his leg sideways and began to spin around. He then tossed him away, sending him flying through downstairs roof and crashing through the other room.

"This guy.." said Vinny while in pain. His body was imprinted into the rooms wall and he was trying to get out of it.

"This guy is strong," he said with a excited tune and a wide smile on his face.

The figure jumped through the hole from upstairs. He landed and slowly strided towards Vinny's location.

Vinny pulled himself from the wall and was now standing on his two feet which were trembling as well as his own arms that he could barely lift. His back was hurting and he felt quite dizzy.

The large figure was now in the room. "You have some determination, kid."

"Shut up!" Vinny exclaimed.

He sprinted towards his foe and landed a solid and powerful straight punch to his face. But he was then attacked by the figure that landed his own punch on Vinny's face.

"That's not how you treat your senior," said the large figure after landing the powerful blow.

Blood leaked from his nose and mouth and it was flying everywhere. His eyes were white and he seemed to unconscious. While falling backwards, his teeth became grit and his eyes rolled back down.

"Didn't I say shut up?" Vinny inquired.

He landed on his palms and retreated by doing a backflip. He once again sprinted towards the figure and landed a blow to his abdomen.

"Aaahhhh!" he yelled.

Vinny then held the large figure by the back of the head and knees him in the face. But that was not all as he landed various more hits with his knee all over his opponents body.

The figure himself then smiled. "I like your attitude, kid!"

He charged up a punch that he held in the air behind. This one had veins popping out from his dark clothing and had a different aura from the rest. He then gave Vinny a right hook which sent him through the other building.

"But your current level of power is enough," he said.

Suddenly, he received an uppercut that sent his head flying upward.

"(Huh? He's not only fast but he even managed to briefly get through my defense?)"

The smile on the figure's face then wided. He then received another punch that sent his head flying forward.

"(This kid has potential!)"

He then received four more punches to the head. But he then regained his balance in time to grab Vinny's fifth punch. His then clenched his opponent arm with most of his weight.

"ARRGHH!" Vinny yelled in agony but still kept the smile on his face.

Vinny then presumed another stance and landed another hit to his opponents liver.

"After I am done with you..." said the figure as he charged up a punch, "... your gonna become my student!"

Vinny saw the punch coming and dodged. He then followed up with a counter punch to the face. But he was then uppercut upwards and was swept off his, being airborne.

When he landed, the figure placed his hand over Vinny's head and readied another blow up above. Before he could do that, he received a left hook to the face. He then grabbed the lower waist of the large figure.

"I may not be strong enough," said Vinny with a hint of disappointment, "so I'll momentum."

He then tackled the figure to the floor. Vinny then slipped behind and held the figure in a choke hold on the ground

"Ha.. Hahahahah!!" the figure began to laugh. His arms were also in the air, clapping.

"That was a good fight, but not beat that I have ever experienced," he said.

He stopped clapping and harden his right arm. Veins began to pop out of his arm's skin and he was ready to land the finished attack.

He said with a hint of sadness, "Now it's time to put an end to this."

The figure then elbowed Vinny in the face. Vinny's head was sent through the floor as a result. It left a web of cracks on the floor, surrounding them.

Vinny's grip faded and the figure was able to freely stand.

"That was fun," said the figure.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah," said a voice.

It was the other male. He was dragging two people by the collar. That was Sophia and the other guy, Nigel.

"I found six of them. Let's get out of here, we you," he said as he dropped the two kids. "Carrying them. We are done here."
