My expression changed when my mate mentioned that word. How could such a name be given to someone as amazing as she was. It wasn't even a name given to pets.

"Who named you that?" I kept my voice low because it could've been given by her mother who misunderstood the culture of my Empire.

Or it was a bad joke played by a local and her mother assumed it was really a nice name. Either way, she had to discard it and the curse it came with.

My mate hesitated before answering, probably because she heard the unease in my tone and wondered if the name was appropriate.

"My sister gave me the name." She said accusatorily and my forehead creased. "But my mother confirmed that it was a word from your culture so I went along with it. It should mean 'stars', right?"
