Chapter Twenty-One: The Dream I
Natasha's POV
"So tell me, why is my Empress crying?"
His voice was calm and steady, and my eyes stayed glued to his, pulling me in. I looked away for my sanity's sake and chuckled nervously.
"Yes… I'm just happy my sister is gone."
He smiled softly, sharing my happiness, and I couldn't help but smile back. He brought my hand to his face. "So it makes you so happy that you'd cry?"
I nodded till looking away. Why was my hand on his face? I should stay calm. My sister leaving really made me so glad that someone could actually see through her.
She had always found a way to blame me for doing nothing. I could never even fathom why she had so much hatred for me.
"Then, I'm happy as well." He lifted himself off the ground and raised me with him. "It would be too much to ban her from coming here, but after the marriage, you could do so."
