A glimpse of Arlong

Holding my bags, I ran towards the Central plaza. Civilians were running in my opposite direction as a few marines were running towards the plaza like me. Even though I was not hiding my face, none of them noticed me. It was really strange. All I was wearing was a pair of sunglasses and an orange colored cap. I never thought it would be enough to hide my identity.

As I entered the main plaza I immediately slipped into one of the alleys and started climbing up a nearby building from where I could get the full view of the plaza. After reaching the 4th floor of a building, I landed on a balcony where the possible owner of the house was looking at the scene with binoculars in his hands. Seeing me landing on his property surprised him. But before he could shout or complain I slapped the owner of the flat with a bundle of money and took his binoculars away. I could clearly see Luffy on the top of the execution platform. But I need it to find others and find a perfect root for our escape. That's why I had taken the binoculars.

Luffy was looking at all the people including the marines gathered under the execution platform curiously. It seemed that the superiors of the Marine had not arrived yet. That's why all of them were confused about what to do. Looking at the crowd, I immediately found Zoro. He was pretty easy to spot with his green hair and three swords. I found Usopp next with a large carry bag with who knows what in them. Sanji was a little difficult to find. But I found him when he entered from the opposite early from where Smoker came with another Marine officer. My eyes widened immediately when they fell on the coat of the particular Marine officer. Even though I have never seen the design of the 'justice' symbol with my own eyes, I recognised it immediately. The person standing beside Smoker, was a vice admiral.

"Fuck !" We were in real trouble.

Unlike pirates who have bounty posters for the public, Marines didn't have anything like that. So it was impossible to recognise any marine at first sight. The Marine was definitely strong with his bulky muscles and strong build. I frantically started searching for our escape route, I knew almost all of the underground routes of the town. But the main problem was getting them out of the plaza.

"Whoever you are ! Get off the execution platform right now ! You are standing on the property of the world government ! This is the first warning ! If you do not come down within the next minute then we will consider you as the criminal and take action." The voice of Smoker in the microphone bug made me stop in my tracks.

Knowing Luffy I could guess what was coming. So I didn't have much time left to take action. Fortunately I still had my staff with me.

"Wow ! So this was the view the king of the pirate got when he died...

Yosh !

I am Monkey D Luffy ! I am going to be the king of the pirates !"

I jumped down as soon as Luffy finished his grand introduction. His voice was not just some child's voice proclaiming about his fantasy. As Luffy was speaking about his dream, I felt shivers down my spine. But I paid no attention to it and jumped into action. The entire world was too stunned to move. It was unthinkable. Luffy had done something unthinkable. I might not understand his reason for shouting it out for the entire world to hear him, but there was a special charm to it.

Unfortunately a certain white haired guy can not stay still. He immediately sprang into action and started flying towards the execution platform in order to deal with Luffy on his own. But he was in for a big surprise if he really thought that he could reach my captain that easily. Immediately after taking aim I fired a special glass bullet towards Smoker. It was not hard to take aim since the white haired guy was flying in a straight path. As soon as it came in contact with him, the glass bullet burst open, covering the area around Smoker completely. The poor guy immediately lost his ability to fly and crashed straight on one of the legs of the execution platform.

*Boom*

As Smoker crashed into the execution platform, the entire platform started to crumble. I didn't pay attention to Luffy as I can towards my nearest target, Sanji. We have a vice admiral to deal with. And I was not so confident in winning against them in a head on fight. Not knowing their character was also another big problem so my best way to deal with this situation was to run away.

"Sanji !" I called out to the blonde cook as I reached near him.

"Nami swan !" Sanji immediately turned around towards me.

"This is a serious matter. A vice admiral is here. Zoro one standing from here near that Orange building while Usopp was also nearby. Pick them up and bring them to that alley in between those two white buildings. You don't have any bounty on you so you wouldn't be haunted by the marines. Go through that alley and try to find the main street without existing it. I would be waiting for you with Luffy at the point where the alley is meeting the main street. Do you understand ?" I asked him hurriedly.

"Yes ! Nami swan !" Sanji nodded and I immediately turned my attention to the collapsed execution platform and Luffy standing above its rubbles.

But then the entire world froze for me. Just on the other side of Luffy behind the group of marines, there was a tall blue man standing near the alley. Even with his hood and cloak on his face and body, his saw-like nose was clearly visible. Even though it was dark I could recognise the figure. It was the monster because of whom, my entire Island got destroyed. Even though the world government had destroyed Conomi Island with a buster call, that guy was the main reason, because of whom the entire thing started in the first place. I know that I should not blame a single person for his indirect involvement. But, the scar, that incident had given me, was impossible to forget.
