As expected by Summer Yu, Liu Tianci was indeed impressed by Summer Yu's views. Liu had not anticipated such a positive outlook on the Hong Kong stock market and financial industry from Summer Yu; it far exceeded his expectations. However, upon closer reflection, Liu Tianci realized that Summer Yu's analysis was grounded in current realities or highly probable future scenarios.
Liu Tianci knew that the Hong Kong government indeed had intentions to consolidate the four major stock exchanges, but this information had not been made public and was still only a proposal.
He had learned about this from a senior executive at HSBC, who revealed that HSBC was keen on promoting the development of Hong Kong's financial industry, including the consolidation of the four exchanges. This was still merely a verbal intention, unknown to outsiders.
Thus, Summer Yu could not have known this information, but he was able to analyze and predict the eventual merger of the four exchanges. This level of reasoning and strategic vision was quite rare. Liu Tianci was uncertain if anyone else in Hong Kong could discern this, but he knew he himself could not.
Despite the many insights Summer Yu provided, Liu Tianci found himself with even more questions. His curiosity drove him to seek answers, so he promptly asked, "Mr. Xia, you mentioned…"
...
Liu Tianci continued to ask questions, and Summer Yu answered them one by one. Each response satisfied Liu Tianci, and gradually, his view of Summer Yu shifted.
He realized that no matter the question, Summer Yu could provide an answer, analyzing from excellent angles and with profound insights. Summer Yu's breadth of knowledge was vast; Liu Tianci could not think of anything that Summer Yu didn't understand.
It was hard to imagine how this sixteen-year-old learned so much! If it was through self-study or personal thinking, then his learning ability was incredibly strong!
As long as there were no unforeseen interruptions, Liu Tianci was 200% confident that Summer Yu would reach the pinnacle of Hong Kong's financial world!
Currently, Summer Yu was in the early stages of his rise—a definite potential star, and a super potential stock with high value. If Liu Tianci did not befriend someone like him, who else would be qualified?
This line of thought made Liu Tianci increasingly enthusiastic about Summer Yu. Summer Yu sensed this change, and their conversation became more frequent, creating a feeling of having met a kindred spirit.
When people are deeply engaged in something, time seems to pass quickly. Before they knew it, it was already nine o'clock in the evening.
Summer Yu glanced at his watch, a gesture noticed by Liu Tianci. Liu then looked at his own watch and realized how late it had become. He smiled apologetically, "Mr. Xia, time has flown by, and it's already so late. I'm sorry!"
"Ha ha, it's been a pleasure to talk with Mr. Liu, but unfortunately, time went by too fast," Summer Yu responded with some regret.
...
After exchanging a few more words, the two got up and headed outside.
Summer Yu was about to hail a taxi when Liu Tianci asked if he had his own car. Summer Yu admitted that he hadn't bought one yet and had taken a cab. Liu Tianci immediately offered for Summer Yu to use his car, which he could not refuse. It was indeed difficult to get a taxi at this late hour, so Summer Yu accepted the offer and told Liu Tianci his home's general location. They drove towards Summer Yu's house.
After driving for a short while, Liu Tianci joked, "Mr. Xia, with such a big career, you should get a car soon. It's inconvenient otherwise. Every minute wasted is equivalent to losing several thousand dollars."
Hearing this, Summer Yu couldn't help but smile. He wasn't displeased by Liu Tianci's comments; rather, he felt a bit pleased. The fact that Liu Tianci was willing to discuss such a somewhat sensitive topic indicated a closer relationship. If the relationship were more distant, such potentially awkward comments wouldn't be made, as they could be easily misinterpreted as mocking.
"It is indeed inconvenient not to have a car. I had just decided to buy one a few days ago, but I haven't had the time to do so. I plan to buy one in the next couple of days, but I'm not sure which car is best. Also, I haven't gotten my driver's license yet, so even if I buy a car, I won't be able to drive it. It's quite a hassle," Summer Yu admitted with some helplessness.
"I see!" Liu Tianci responded, understanding.
"By the way, Mr. Liu, you mentioned that although I haven't gotten my license, I have driven before?" Liu Tianci suddenly asked.
Summer Yu wasn't sure why Liu Tianci asked this but responded, "I learned to drive with a relative before and have driven for him."
Although this was a fabricated response, Summer Yu did know how to drive. Liu Tianci's question seemed to imply some intention, so Summer Yu answered accordingly.
"Mr. Xia, since you already know how to drive, it will be easier. I know a friend who is the manager of a large car dealership. They sell various models of cars, and they have almost every type available on the market. You should be able to find a car you like. They also have connections to help with getting a driver's license if you need it," Liu Tianci offered with a smile.
Summer Yu's eyes lit up at Liu Tianci's offer. This would solve all his problems, save him a lot of trouble, and save time. How could he not need this help?
"That sounds great. Mr. Liu, which dealership is it?" Summer Yu asked.
"Longchang Motors, located on Banxian Road on the island. When you have time, I can accompany you there," Liu Tianci offered.
"There's no need to trouble yourself. You're busy enough as it is. It would be too much to ask you to accompany me for such a small matter," Summer Yu quickly declined. He didn't feel comfortable asking Liu Tianci, the manager of HSBC Securities' Kowloon branch, to accompany him to buy a car. If he agreed, Liu Tianci would likely comply, but it would seem unreasonable of him. He understood this was likely a polite offer.
"Alright then, I'll call my friend and let you contact him directly when you go to buy a car. His name is Wang Rong, and he's the manager of Longchang Motors," Liu Tianci said, nodding.
"Okay, got it. Thank you!" Summer Yu acknowledged.
"Ha ha, no need to be so polite. We're friends, after all…"
"Ha ha ha…"
...
Not long after, guided by Summer Yu, the car arrived at Summer Yu's doorstep.
"Mr. Liu, thank you for the trouble. I'll go inside now. Let's meet more often if there's a chance," Summer Yu said as he got out of the car.
"Mr. Xia, tonight's conversation was very enlightening. Please visit me more often when you have time. I have many more questions to ask you!" Liu Tianci responded with a sense of appreciation.
"Ha ha, mutual progress! Drive safely tonight!"
"Alright, goodbye!"
After seeing Liu Tianci's car drive away, Summer Yu walked into the yard. His parents had come out, likely having heard the car engine.
Meanwhile, as Liu Tianci drove away, he reflected on the modest house he had just seen and felt a pang of admiration: "I didn't expect Mr. Xia's home to be so humble. A prodigious talent like him comes from such a poor family; the Xia family must have great fortune!"
While driving, Liu Tianci also recalled their conversation, his face showing admiration.
