[GLOBAL ANNOUNCEMENT]
THE GRUMPY GREMLIN'S CAVE HAD OPENED FOR ALL TEAMS
_______________
The Grumpy Gremlin was a powerful monster and players could only enter the cave once. If they managed to defeat the Gremlin they would gain a lot of exp and increase their level.
Sylus became excited and wanted to see what this Grumpy Gremlin was all about. But he realized he could only enter the cave with a team.
He noticed a team named *Struggle*, which had three members—Ruthless, Toby, and Grim. Sylus quickly messaged Ruthless, "Let's team up to defeat the Gremlin."
Ruthless was hesitant and told Sylus that they weren't powerful enough yet to take on the Grumpy Gremlin. But Sylus, overly confident said, "Don't worry, I'm with you guys. You can check my level—I'm very powerful."
The team checked and saw that Zayn's character, which Sylus was using had a much higher level than theirs. Reluctantly, they agreed to join forces thinking they had a real shot with someone so experienced.
Little did they know that Sylus had no idea how to actually play the game. His ignorance would soon lead to chaos.
As they prepared to enter the cave Sylus was full of overconfidence and he kept boasting about how easily they would defeat the Gremlin. "We've got this! It'll be a piece of cake," trying to lure the team into a false sense of security.
After all it wasn't his reputation on the line—it was Zayn's. Sylus thought even if he messed up, everyone would just blame Zayn. Plus, it's not like he was ever going to meet Team Struggle in real life, right? With that comforting thought he dove headfirst into the madness.
The team entered the Grumpy Gremlin's cave and Sylus with absolutely no clue how to actually play, immediately began doing foolish things.
He ran in the wrong direction, swinging his weapon wildly and almost hitting his own teammates. It wasn't long before Toby died in the game, all because of Sylus's incompetence.
Just as the situation was getting worse, Sylus heard footsteps coming toward the room. He quickly shut down the PC and stood up. Zayn walked in and stared at him. "What the hell are you doing in my room?."
Sylus gave a sarcastic smile and replied, "I'm just here to find out if your room is as boring as your personality. Spoiler alert: It is!" Without waiting for Zayn's response, Sylus walked out of the room and headed downstairs.
As he reached the bottom of the stairs, he asked the maid, "Where is Uncle Marcus?"
The maid replied, "Sir Marcus and his secretary are in his office."
Sylus decided to go towards the office but as he got closer he overheard the conversation inside.
The secretary was speaking, "Sir, today Sylus turns 19. According to the will, when Sylus becomes 19, he will automatically become the owner of all the business assets."
Marcus replied with a cold tone, "Do you think I'll let Sylus take over everything so easily? I've done too much for this business. It only belongs to me. It wasn't hard to silence his father three years ago, and it won't be hard to do the same to Sylus."
Sylus felt like the ground had been ripped out from under him. His heart pounded as he realized what Marcus was saying. His uncle had killed his parents.
The world around him seemed to blur as shock and disbelief took over. The image of his kind, loving parents being murdered by the man he had trusted as family filled him with unimaginable pain.
Tears welled up in his eyes as the truth settled in—a truth too painful to bear.
In his shock, Sylus accidentally knocked over a vase. The noise echoed down the hallway and Marcus and the secretary rushed out of the office.
They saw Sylus standing there his face was pale and eyes wide with horror.
"Why did you do this to my parents?" Sylus shouted, his voice trembling with rage and sorrow. "Father trusted you so much! How can you be so heartless?"
Marcus was unfazed and calmly sat on the sofa. "It wasn't just me, Sylus," he said with a chilling calmness. "All eight board members were involved. If your father had listened to us, he would still be alive."
Sylus, his voice shaking with emotion, responded, "Just you wait, Uncle. I'll tell the police everything. You're a killer!"
Marcus smirked, "Sure, you can tell them if you're still alive."
