The Golden Era

The journey from the capital of Evacard Duchy to the academy was brief, but for Perscillia, it was her first arrival at this prestigious institution. The academy loomed large, and as the carriage arrived and halted at the gate, they presented their identification. Throughout the trip, Perscillia and Leon's eyes were drawn to the city. The walls were colossal, and as they entered, Perscillia felt a distinct increase in mana density. The streets bustled with shops, inns, and performers—musicians, dancers, and a lively crowd. A grand fountain surrounded by dancers showcasing their skills was a prominent feature. Further ahead, they encountered an even larger wall, which Crambell had explained separated the city from the academy grounds.

The academy was vast, and the carriage could not enter. Instead, they would use a transportation vehicle for their luggage and tour. Perscillia and Leon were the only ones waiting for this vehicle, as Crambell and the knights had departed upon arrival. Murmurs arose among the onlookers when they saw the royal crest on Leon's coat: "Is he the rumored prince?" "Is he the one with commoner blood?" "After two whole centuries, a prince with commoner blood has been seen."

Minutes later, the transportation device—a snail-like contraption powered by mana crystals—arrived. Although Perscillia was familiar with it, she noticed the astonishment of those around her. What surprised her even more was seeing her sister, Sana, driving the vehicle. Sana, with her black hair and eyes inherited from their father, was a rugged beauty. In contrast, Perscillia's beauty was more delicate and feminine. Sana stopped in front of them, got out, and embraced Perscillia. After the hug, she asked, "Did you have a pleasant journey?"

"Yes," Perscillia replied.

Sana then turned to Leon, offering a courteous bow befitting a prince. "Greetings, Your Highness Prince Leon Reinhart."

"Hello, Lady Sana. We may not be close, but you can still address me informally, as you did in the state," Leon said.

"Thank you, Your Highness. How was your journey, Prince Leon?"

"It was well, Lady Sana."

Sana then introduced them to the transportation device, called "Salt." The journey was pleasant, and Sana gave them a tour of the academy, which included various schools: the School of Magical Formula, the School of Military, the School of Aura, the School of Swordsmanship, the School of Painting and Accessories, the School of Forging, and more.

Perscillia was provided with a luxurious room and two maids, Rose and Violet, as part of the academy's accommodations for nobles with sufficient power. Leon had a separate residence reserved for royals. The academy started the next day, so Perscillia spent the rest of the day in her room, exhausted.

In the morning, she heard a knock on the door and knew it was her personal maids. Rose and Violet, both middle-aged and highly efficient, entered after Perscillia granted them permission. The day began with a bath and dressing for the academy. Perscillia chose to walk, observing other noble ladies on their way. She recognized Rebecca, a classmate from the Viscount Turantino family, known for her pale skin due to the cold weather of the Ferghana Duchy. Despite her portly appearance, Rebecca was charming. They said their goodbyes and headed towards the School of Magical Formula, engaging in a pleasant conversation about their shared love for classical literature.

Finding their classroom was easy; it was the only freshman class in the School of Magical Formula building. As they entered, all eyes were on them, especially Perscillia, due to her beauty and noble crest. They chose seats next to a young man with the crest of nobility—Rohn, the third son of a count. He had black hair, an average appearance, and spoke only pleasantries.

Gradually, more students arrived, dividing into groups with and without noble crests. Perscillia made an effort to appear friendly. When the teacher, an elderly man named Ferdinand with a wrinkled face but a vibrant voice, entered, he introduced himself and offered assistance with any issues they might face. He then asked the students to stand and introduce themselves.

The introductions went smoothly until a commoner drew everyone's attention. He was quite handsome, with perfect eyebrows, a high nose bridge, and green hair matching his eyes. His confidence stood out as he proclaimed his ambition to become a 10th-circle mage, drawing sneers from some classmates. His name was Kevin, and Perscillia admired his confidence, noting his name for future reference.

After everyone completed their introductions, Ferdinand said, "The number of people going through the Awakening has considerably increased over the last decade, so you will have to work extra hard. You all will be part of this GOLDEN ERA."

The rest of the day was spent visiting other schools, including the School of Military, the School of Etiquette, and the School of Battle Mage, all within the School of Magical Formula.
