Are You Married?

"Uncle... Uncle!!!" squealed Key awake, as his stomach suddenly cried out to be filled.

There was silence.

There was no answer from Ervan.

Key, who found that the room was only her, finally got up from her bed and stepped out of her room.

Slowly Key circulated her gaze all over the place.

There was no one in the villa, not even Etha and Chan.

"Where are they and Uncle Ervan? Did they leave me in this big villa alone?" Key's monologue with her little squeak.

Trying to dismiss her fear, Key excitedly chose to close her eyes for a moment and exhaled roughly.

'I'm hungry... I'd better go to the kitchen,' Key said while rubbing her stomach which was starting to churn a little.

With calm steps, Key stepped into the kitchen which was not far from her current position.

Key's gaze only focused on a refrigerator, because from a distance the refrigerator with two large doors was already visible.

Creaked...

"Are you awake?"

Key instantly froze at the sound of a man's voice not far behind her.

"Who...-are...-you?" asked Key in a trembling voice without turning her body at all.

The sound of crisp laughter filled the kitchen.

'Uncle?' thought Key who realised the sound of laughter, after which Key immediately turned her body at once and right at that moment Key's eyes collided with Ervan who was still holding the spatula while laughing at Key.

"Uncle!!!" Key shouted, not accepting being laughed at by Ervan.

With hasty steps, Key approached Ervan who was still standing in front of the stove busy cooking.

Key immediately hit Ervan lightly on the back, having previously succeeded in making her shudder in horror, and thinking all kinds of thoughts.

"Hey! It hurts, you don't realise how much power you have, do you?" said Ervan with a slight groan at Key's action.

The reflex of Key's hand that was still beating Ervan instantly stopped.

"Sorry," Key squeaked softly while playing with his fingers.

Ervan couldn't help but agree, and snorted in annoyance at Key.

Afterwards, Ervan told Key to sit down first and wait for the cooking that would soon be finished.

The upward curve of a smile was visible on Key's beautiful face.

Ervan really liked Key's face like this, more cheerful without any fear.

Like an obedient child Key sat quietly on her stool staring at Ervan's clearly clad back busy cooking.

"Uncle ... are you married? If you are married, why isn't your wife here?" asked Key suddenly out of Ervan's expectation.

Instantly Ervan stopped his activities for a moment, and re-asked Key with a new question, without answering Key's previous question.

"Do you think it's possible if I have a wife to still allow you to live in my village without my wife beside me at this time?" asked Ervan who gave a counter question to Key, so that Key could also draw conclusions.

Key nodded her head slowly understanding the implied words that Ervan wanted to say.

"Then why don't you get married? You're handsome, you're rich, and most importantly you're kind, there must be a lot of women who like Uncle Ervan," said Key casually with her hand making a motion as if she was photographing Ervan from afar.

Ervan chuckled at Key's words, which he thought were very casual. He couldn't believe that Key would honestly describe someone in front of his own person.

"Are you always like this, describing someone honestly to their own person?" Ervan asked Key wanting to know the extent of the honesty of Key's words to him.

A quick nod Ervan got from Key.

Key excitedly told Ervan that one of her friends once asked her to tell her the truth about what she thought of her voice when she sang in front of her.

"Then how did your friend sound? What did you tell her?" asked Ervan excitedly.

A shake of the head and a gesture of the hand seemed to be the rejection Ervan got from Key.

"I told her that her voice is better when she talks normally than when she sings, she's a bad singer."

Instantly Ervan stifled his laughter, he did not expect that the girl would so casually criticise people.

"You really said that to her?"

Key buzzed in agreement with Ervan's words, and after that, the girl immediately opened her mouth to continue what she wanted to say.

"You know uncle, it's strange that after that her face turned sour on me, and left me alone, even though she herself asked me to give an opinion, is that wrong?" Key said at length, ending with an innocent question.

Gosh Key, does she really not realise that not everyone will accept someone's honest words for the ugliness they reveal?

That's what Ervan thought of Key.

It was hard for Ervan to hold back his laughter so that Key wouldn't think strangely of him, because Ervan knew that Key must not realise that what she was saying was ridiculous and intriguing.

Ervan took a moment to catch his breath, before giving Key some understanding.

"Look Key, sometimes not everyone is willing to accept the flaws that they have said by others, and maybe the reason your friend suddenly left was because of that," Ervan said trying to make sense to Key.

Key nodded her head trying to understand that Ervan's words had some truth to them.

"Then she doesn't have to tell me that I have to tell her the truth,"Key grumbled to herself while playing with her legs that were dangling over the dining table chair.

Ervan did not respond to her, but instead refocused on his cooking which was almost finished.

Staring at the girl's face for so long, it felt like Ervan wanted to laugh at the girl's silly behaviour that she expressed on her own.

It didn't take too long for Ervan to finish his cooking, and arrange the food on the dining table.

The food was neatly arranged and varied.

"Wow uncle it turns out you're a good cook, I didn't know you could cook various dishes, mmm ... can you teach me to cook next time uncle?" Key asked Ervan, with her eyes as if waiting for an answer from Ervan.

A smile, and a nod of the head Key got from Ervan for her question.

Without warning, a hug was suddenly given to Ervan from a beautiful girl who could be considered cheerful, and intelligent.

"Key?"

Ervan was confused by Key's treatment of him.

"Thank you, uncle, you're really good, surely the woman who will become uncle's wife will be lucky to get uncle."

Gulp

'Gosh, this kid!'
