Message

Ever since the message from his family, Ervan had been unfocussed. For some reason he had a certain uneasiness about the message, not to mention that the secretary never gave him the information he needed.

"Uncle, why do I doubt you who always says you're fine?" Key whispered to Ervan after watching Ervan for a few minutes with no change.

Ervan's gaze seemed to be staring at an object, but it could be confirmed that his gaze was just a blank stare.

Ervan, who was aware of Key's call, reflexively turned his head to look at Key, and did not forget to insist on telling Key that he was fine, but he could not deny that his main company in the Asian region was interfering with his current thoughts.

"If you're having work problems over there, why don't you take care of them first? Who knows, that way the problem will be solved quickly, right?" Key said wisely as if she understood Ervan's company.

"Tsk, you know what girl," Ervan chided Key as he ruffled the girl's hair.

To be honest, Key wanted to openly sneer at Ervan, but she decided against it since Ervan was not in a good condition according to her.

In order to undo her intention to sneer at Ervan, Key actually cursed in her heart saying that she was not that stupid to understand a company. She realised that the young man in front of her was an important person, especially owning a luxurious villa in the London area, and hiring two well-trained bodyguards to guard her.

Doesn't it make it clear that Ervan is not a normal person who lives there like her?

Actually, Key herself is not entirely an ordinary person, it's just that all this time her parents' wealth could not be used until she reached the age of 17, and that was only some time ago, for that Key herself had not had time to take care of the inheritance to her lawyer.

"Hey! Don't look at me like that, aren't you currently cursing me in your heart?" Ervan said harshly ending with a question to Key.

As if caught off guard, Key immediately lowered her head, and cupped her cheeks to hide her embarrassment.

"Uncle can read Key's mind huh?" Key accused, not daring to look at Ervan.

A smile played on Ervan's lips. He didn't expect that girl to be so innocent.

Oh come on, why is it that in this day and age, where it's common for children to grow up faster than their age, he was now faced with a girl who could be said to have reached adulthood, but had the personality of an adorable child.

"If I have that power, why would I ask about your name and so on?" Ervan asked back.

Instantly Key fell silent, and began to raise her head to stare at Ervan hesitantly.

It took some time for Key to make sure Ervan's words were honest with her, or vice versa, because besides being innocent Key was also quite sure that there were some things that could not be explained that really existed. In other words, if Ervan said he could read minds then it was certain that Key would immediately believe it, without the slightest doubt.

"I think Uncle can really read my mind," Key said with a nervous grin.

Suddenly Ervan, who heard it, laughed with satisfaction at Key's babble.

"Key, if I have to return to my country, is it okay with you?" Ervan asked in the end.

Key nodded her head vigorously, after all she couldn't be bothered with Ervan all the time could she?

"Are you sure?" asked Ervan to confirm.

Again a quick nod of the head was received from Key.

Ervan sighed softly, and after telling Key that the day after tomorrow he would return to his country, while Key herself would later be allowed to return to Oxford if she wanted to continue her studies provided that Ethan and Chan would come with her.

Ervan also asked about Key's residential address.

Key said that she lived in a house not far from the campus, which was the residence left by her parents.

Ervan nodded his head for a moment.

"Alright, then Ethan and Chan will live not far from your place," Ervan said firmly making a decision.

Key quickly refuted Ervan's proposal and said that Ethan and Chan could live in the pavilion at the back of the house, and Key herself told Ervan that the house seemed lonely for her alone, so Key spent most of her time elsewhere and went home only to sleep.

He was momentarily stunned by Key's words. He knew how it felt to be alone without anyone, back when he was in college, he was like that, and Kenan happily shared his time accompanying Ervan on campus, which of course was not immediately obvious, but Ervan could feel it.

"Oh yeah, if your business is done at Oxford, can you catch up with me?" asked Ervan while looking at the girl's face. For some reason, he felt nervous waiting for the answer from Key who looked hesitant.

Could it be that the girl did not want to because she did not want to see him again?

It was implied about that in his head.

Key looked at Ervan thoughtfully in her head. She honestly wanted to tell Ervan that she wanted to catch up with him. But was it appropriate? After all, wouldn't she be labelled as troublesome to Ervan?

"What's wrong?" asked Ervan in the end when he only saw the silence of Key who did not make an opinion or sound for his question.

"If I agree to go after uncle, will I be labelled as troublesome?"

Ervan, who was previously confused by Key's attitude, was now shocked by Key's unexpected question.

Why would Key think that?!

"You take it easy, I'm just glad you want to catch up with me, that way I can monitor you closely instead of worrying about you from a distance."

'Really?!' screeched Key with a different look on her face than before.

The happy look that now appeared on Key's face was unlike before.

Ervan gave Key a nod of his head. After all, he didn't lie this time, because somehow his little heart told him that he had to protect the girl especially since he knew a small part of Key's own identity, which many people might not know.

Without a word, Key hugged Ervan. "Thank you, Uncle. You're such a good person, it's fitting that Daddy is close to you," Key said, busy hugging Ervan who was just standing still.

'Should I hug her back?' Monologued Ervan who was confused by the current situation.
