139. Side Chapter 3: Alan's absence.

The week went by quicker than Alan would have wanted it to.

He didn't mean to, but somehow, he got to find out from Mary that the young Janey just got admitted into the university and will be going away by May.

"Oh, the kids in church sure will miss her." Mary had said.

Alan now even knew what she'd be studying in the university… Fine arts.

For some reason, he thought the course she chose was something actually suited her perfectly even though he was yet to actually know her. He just thought she would look good as an artist, with a paint brush in her hand, an apron stained with different colors of paint and her cheeks filled with colors.

Or a curator, explaining to guests in a gallery about paintings, with a big bright welcoming smile on her face.

Fine art… it suited her all too well.

Before Alan knew it, in the space of one week, without even trying to know, he had somehow gathered a lot of information on the girl named Janey.
