The next day, as Zayden was adjusting his clothes in front of the mirror of the coat room, the cell phone in his pocket vibrated. It was a call from Henry.
“Hello?” Zayden answered the call.
“Mr Collins, Sophia York told us the truth.”
“What?”
Henry paused for a moment before continuing, “She said that Jessica had long known that Max's mother was Miss Brown. Six years ago, things did go wrong. Miss Brown’s sister had drugged her and attempted to let some guys sexually assault her. However, Miss Brown went to the wrong room, which was your room back then. Also, she gave birth to two children, not one.”
Zayden’s face turned pale as he gripped the phone tightly. His heartbeat, which had just begun to slow down accelerated.
“Jessica knew miss Brown approached you on purpose before Jason was arrested. Miss Brown had met with an American lawyer who specialized in custody cases, and they already had proof that you didn’t take care of Max when he was a baby.”
