CHAPTER 136: I MISSED YOU

When Briar saw the group of kids walking her way, she was surprised and became panicky. She had never met these kids at once before. Having them all come at her at once was a bit overwhelming and scary.

Although she didn't want to admit it, she really cared a lot about what other people thought. Her stepchildren's friends were part of their lives and their words or actions played a huge role in affecting them.

What if they say some disturbing words to Lyra and Cade, which would affect and implicate the way they look at her? How would she solve that matter?

It wasn't all stepmothers that were very good to their stepchildren. There was this common belief that stepmothers weren't good people and were always concerned about their benefits. As long as it didn't benefit them, they wouldn't bother to put in more effort.

Of course, that belief was very true as indeed people were selfish, but were they the only people who were selfish in this world?
