CHAPTER FIFTY-TWO : TAKE OFF YOUR CLOTHES.

"What?" Daisy asked, staring at Zade with her mouth hanging open.

"W-why?" she stuttered, unable to comprehend what she'd just heard. Her mind scrambled to process the clause he had added into the marriage agreement. "Why would you include something like that?"

"I'm a man, Daisy. I have needs," Zade said, his voice calm but firm. "My grandmother's watching me like a hawk now, and I can't risk hiring women for pleasure anymore. I'm married, and any scandal would ruin the Harnes name. It's expected that I seek satisfaction from my wife—no one else."

The seriousness in his tone made Daisy flinch slightly.

"No," she said quickly, shaking her head. "I'm not doing this. You don't consider me your wife, and I sure as hell don't see you as my husband. We married for personal gain, not intimacy."

Her voice trembled toward the end—like she was trying to convince herself more than him.
