A New Beginning

Not so. When I reread my first chapter, I accidentally wrote Antarctica when I meant to write Alaska. I apologize for the confusion. Our MC is in Alaska.

As I walk through the portal with the vial of GSS (Golden Sentry Serum), I take a moment to breathe in the frozen Alaskan air. Still not believing what happened, my world had ended suddenly and without warning, and I had survived due to a cosmic fluke. Now I'm in the world of the Boys courtesy of some Cosmic, Eldrich, or Supreme Being one week before canon and before the death of Hughie's girlfriend by A-Train. I could prevent that and stop a tragedy before it happens; I need to drink the GSS. To think one vial could give one man the power of 1 million exploding suns and, of course, the power of the void. This little cylinder of Amber liquid is a small thing capable of turning men into gods. Now it's in my hands. With it, I could become the Senty, more potent than any super in the boys. I could stop the super terrorist that Homelander created, I could stop Homelander himself. I could raise the dead and be able to control matter and energy. I'd be invincible. All I have to do is drink it.

I uncap the vial, slowly bring the GSS to my lips, and drink it.

"Wasn't something supposed to hap-...

With a rush, I feel the limitless power of one million exploding suns. I start to glow like the sun, and the land around me shakes and burns. The power within me stays contained for a brief moment until it can't anymore. I explode, and the energy released turns the ground to glass, the forest to ash, and the mountains to vaper.

Currently, agents within the Pentagon are on the move, desperate to figure out what happened in Alaska.

Officer: "What the Hell was that, and how did it get through our defenses?!"

M Agent: "We don't know, sir, but from what we can tell, nothing breached is defenses."

Officer: "Do you expect me to believe that some nuke just materialized in the middle of Alaska!"

M Agent: "Nnn-No sir, I was just.."

Officer: "Shut up!" sigh ..... "How soon can we get a satellite feed and an easement of the loss of life."

M Agent: "The good news, sir, is that no town or citizen was near the blast. We will have a satellite feed in the next minute or so.

Officer: "Thank God. What about where the blast came from? Do we know if this was an attack or not?"

M Agent: "No sir, it just came out of nowhere."

F Agent: "We have the satellite feed ready, sir."

Officer: "Put on screen."

With a few quick types of the female agent's keyboard, the satellite feed is displayed on the main screen in the room. Once the video clears, the agents and Officers see nothing but hundreds and hundreds of miles of devastation caused by what looks increasingly like a nuclear blast of some kind. Zooming into the center of the blast, they see a silhouette of a Man radiating golden light.
