Jason's Pov

We were too far out in the woods. Now on land that did not belong to us. My brother was in shock from seeing Mom murdered. I guess that's why he passed out. Sky, she's been hit with a fucking arrow and I had to hide her and my brother in a small cave. 

I rushed back to get help from Dakota or the guards. All I could think about was Sky and Lou. I just hope that no one finds them before I get back. "Get Dakota to send out the guards now!" I yelled to the gatekeepers as I ran inside up to the castle.

Before I could get to the door Dakota came running towards me.

"Where's Sky and Lou?" He asked. "They're in the woods past the line. Lou passed out and Sky's hurt. She was hit!" I said ranting on.

"What the hell are they doing out there? 

They've just started a fuckin war" Dakota hissed snatching a rifle from one of the guards. I took one from Haze, another guard and we rushed back armed and ready to fight. "Are you going to tell me what they were doing this far out?!"

Dakota shouted as he took cover behind a tree then quickly shot at some guy that was standing on a rock. "Look, we can talk about that when we get back. For now, our goal is to get them back safely!" I shouted ducking back just in time as a bullet had just missed my head.

"Fine, whatever, you and I will go bring them back. You get Lou I'll get Sky. Haze, I need the rest of you to cover us!" -Swoosh! An arrow flies past the tree Dakota retreats behind and hits Jackson, another one of our guards in the head. 

"Shit!" Haze swore. Jackson was his cousin. And one of my best friends. After watching him hit the ground I just saw red. Dakota yelled out to me but I couldn't make out what he was saying. I stepped out and walked towards the cave.

I fired my gun aimlessly at every one of the enemies with no hesitation. Next thing I know Dakota's tackling me to the ground. We rolled until we were at the entrance of the cave. "What the fuck is wrong with you? Do you have a fucking death wish?!" 

He yelled holding me by the collar of my shirt. "They killed Jackson," I muttered. Saying it out loud that he's gone made it more real. He let me go and walked into the cave. "Jason, get your head on straight. I need you to grab Lou" Hearing that kind of helped. No matter what I need to get my little brother home safe. 

I stood up and rushed to Lou. I quickly lifted him, placing him on my shoulder. Dakota stood by the entrance holding Sky. We waited for our guards to give us a sign that it was clear to move. Didn't take long since we killed most of the men from the other side. 

Haze signaled and we rushed back. Dakota is ahead of me. 

Haze behind me guarding me and Lou. The arrow hitting Jackson came back to me. I stopped running and turned to Haze. "You go now I can cover myself Give me the gun and get Jackson" 

He nodded, handing me his weapon and picked up Jackson. I held my brother in one hand and fired away with the automatic. as I walked backward. After realizing no one was firing back I turned, feeling relaxed to be back on our turf.

I sat Jackson on a sofa in the living room. He's still out. "Someone get Nelson to check on them both now!" I yelled to the guards. Nelson was our live-in doctor. "No just him. I got her" Dakota stated, still holding Sky as he walked off.

I rolled my eyes annoyed. What the hell is his problem? It's not like Nelson's going to do anything to her, especially with us right here. I watched closely as Nelson strode over to us and began checking on Lou.

Dakota's POV

I kicked the door closed after placing Sky on my bed. She wasn't too badly hurt. She might have gone out in shock from the pain but she was grazed on the right side of her stomach. I grabbed a first aid kit and lifted her shirt just as I did this, her eyes open.

She's giving me a half confused half pissed glare. Okay yeah to someone just waking up I could see how this would look like I'm undressing her. Damn, I'm never going to be on her good side. I thought as I sat there not knowing what to say. 

For the first time in my life, I'm speechless. She attempted to scoot away from me but winced from the pain. "No, don't move, I'm just trying to help," I said in the friendliest tone possible. Hoping she wouldn't put up a fight.

"I don't need you to do it. Isn't there a doctor around" She said, holding her hand on her shirt to keep it down. I sighed. "He's helping my brother, why can't you just let me help? I won't do anything. If I wanted to I would have" I stated only the truth. 

Probably should have sugar-coated it though. This wasn't helping my case. Her eyes went from buck wide to cat glare. 

Fine, I tried being nice. Now I'll just have to take a different approach.

"Do you remember what I said about how I could be nice or mean?

How I am depends on your actions?" I said as I took from the first aid kit all the necessary items. She seemed to think for a moment before removing her hand. I lifted her shirt making sure not to reveal her bra so that she wouldn't get annoyed.

Didn't take long since it was just a graze. "All done I said putting the first aid kit away" She attempted to sit up again. "Be still. Just sleep here tonight" I'm not trying to do anything but since the first day she came I wanted her by my side at all times. 

I don't know why I've never had feelings for anyone. If I must be honest. What can I say it just felt like she belonged to me. I sat with my arms crossed and shook my head as I watched her struggle off the bed and fall to the floor. 

I lifted her and placed her back on my bed. "Look I'll sleep on the couch just stay still you need to rest," I said walking to my closet. 

I pulled a black tee from the hanger and sat it on the bed. You can put this on to sleep in I'll sleep in a different room if it makes you comfortable"

When she didn't say anything I looked over to find her asleep. That was fast I thought as I made my way to the door to leave. I honestly needed to hurry up and make my exit. The urge to take a bite was starting to take its toll.
