Right Here

Sky's POV-

I sat stunned at the fact that I could hear his thoughts, and he could hear mine.

"I get it's shocking, but was I wrong?"

Dad asked, snatching us from our thoughts.

"No, you are not wrong, but... I started.

"But?" Dad asked.

"But are you sure he's... dead?"

I asked needing some sort of assurance that the monster that ruined my life was really gone.

"I strangled him with my bare hands, and watched the life leave his eyes. You have nothing to worry about. You're safe now. and you know what I'm going to make sure it stays that way. I'm going to have his body burned. I'll be back. You two stay here, and rest"

Dad said as he got up from the chair and left the room. I turned my attention to Uriel who was staring at me.

"Why are you staring?"

I asked confused as I sat back on the bed.

"What was that earlier? I could hear your thoughts, and you could hear mine."

He voiced. I shrugged. "I don't know I mean maybe because we... both got hurt at the same time, or maybe we... are both going crazy, and will end up just like him." I joked.

Earning a glare from him.

"How can you be joking about this?" he asked clearly annoyed.

"Because up until now I have seen crazier things, been through crazier things then.... hearing your thoughts. All I want right now is to rest, and not be serious about anything or anyone because if I do, I will cry again, and I'm not sure I'll stop." I confessed.

"Hey" He pulled me into a hug.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you. You're right we don't have to worry about anything right now. Just rest."

He said rubbing my back. I sat up. Pulling away after realizing how twisted his body looked in the position.

"What?" He asked. with furrowed brows.

"There's no way you're comfortable sitting like that."

I said scooting over a little too much and almost falling off of the bed altogether. Yet his arm had wrapped around my waist pulling me closer to him.

"Did you forget that this is a hospital bed. There's not much room for two"

He said shifting his position and started to get up, but I stopped him. he just stared at me for a moment.

"I'm not leaving you alone I'm just going to... "You're just going to put your legs on the bed all the way so that I can finally be at ease"

I said cutting him off. He laughed.

"Are you really worried I'm not comfortable, or just trying to make sure you are?"

He countered.

"Both"

I admitted. as I laid on my side next to him when he finally laid like a normal person. He turned on his side to face me.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked.

"You just did" he said smirking. I rolled my eyes.

"What happened to Jason? You, and dad have both been avoiding talking about him."

I said realizing I have yet to see him.

"We don't have to... talk about that right now Sky"

"Well, I want to. Where is Jason?"

I asked getting annoyed.

"I mean you said that you didn't want to be serious about anything. So why are you so serious about this?"

"You're stalling. Fine I'll ask dad"

I said as I begin to sit up.

"Come on Sky you barely even noticed him when he was around don't pretend to be so worked up"

I stopped in my tracks. What the hell does that mean? I thought.

No wait that's not... I didn't mean it like that. he answered my thought with a thought.

I just continued to get up from the bed.

Where are you going?

Anywhere you're not.

He quickly wrapped his arms around me and pulled me back onto the bed, but I landed on top of him.

Awkward is an understatement. He must have felt the same as he quickly released me.

Don't be mad, just stay here. Rest like dad said.

I quickly got off of him and ignored his attempt at another mind conversation.

"Sky say something"

"I'm just going to take a walk."

I said and again attempted another escape, but the guy is extremely strong. He pinned me to the bed. holding me in place.

Just listen to me and rest here and I'll go back to my room if you really don't want to see me right now.

"Did Dakota kill him too? Stop avoiding the subject. I've been through enough. Not telling me about Jason is not saving me from anything."

I pleaded. He just stared at me for a moment.

"Sky I'm sorry I don't know where he is, ok? He's been missing since before we went into a coma and I'd say thats about . He went to look for you, but he never came back."

He admitted. I laid there momentarily speechless. What does that mean? Wait we... How long were we... in a coma?

They never told me how long I was out just that I was and all I could hear the nurse say was that my baby was gone.

We've been out for five years Sky we've been in a coma for five years. And Jason... I'm not sure anymore how long it's been since he went missing. If I had to guess I'd say... It's been six or seven years.

"What? That doesn't make any sense. That would mean we're five years older. I'm... five years older... I'm... Twenty-three?"

"Yes... you are. We've lost so much time"

Has anyone been looking for Jason at all. I mean he can't be far. There are not many places for him to go, and dad... didn't dad tell him I'm here. How come he isn't here.

"Yeah, you're right. Where the hell is Jason?"

Just as he said this. The door to the room opened.

"I'm right here."

"Jason?" we said in unison.

"Not just me."

And in walks... "Lou?" we said again in unison.
