Kale fell silent and took a seat on the throne, resting his head on his palm. "That's a significant problem," he mused aloud. 'If he decides to interfere in the war, I need to ascertain his position. Additionally, I must ensure that my people regain their trust in me as their lord, rather than idolising another baron.' He glanced up at his wife, who was patiently waiting with the others in the hall for his decision.
"Darling," he began, "would you be so kind as to travel down to the village and demonstrate our kindness to them? Afterward, you could proceed further south to Stork Fortress and speak with this new lord." Kale didn't need to elaborate further, knowing that his wife was far more adept at politics than he was.
"I will leave immediately with carriages full of supplies," she replied, turning to leave the hall.
Simultaneously, in Castle Obidos, which was larger and more pristine than the Nolan house's castle, Edwin Cinder was intently studying a map of the land between his house and House Nolan. His expression was focused, and he was holding his index finger in the air, upon which a ball of fire levitated constantly.
"Son, what you did in that village…" the head of House Cinder, an elderly man with a handkerchief in his hand stained with blood, was slowly succumbing to an illness.
"Father, I don't wish to hear your incessant blabbering anymore," Edwin interrupted. "They are commoners living in a pile of dirt, nobody cares about them. Their lives are meaningless and exist solely for me to step on. This is the last I want to hear from you on this matter. You should return to your room and rest." Edwin looked up at the entrance to the hall, where a large knight in black armour was waiting silently. He signalled for the knight to approach.
The knight entered and took the old Cinder lord's arm, forcibly escorting him out of the hall. "Edwin, what has happened to you… COUGH COUGH COUGH," Edwin's father shouted, his illness flaring up.
Edwin remained silent, continuing to study the map. 'The fight has to end before they get close, their knights are superior to mine' he thought to himself, glancing out the window past their town where small tents were set up outside. His knights were preparing for war there.
In one of those tents…
CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK
Three Korean men stood around a large table where tens of guns were piled up. They were disassembling the guns, cleaning them, and then reassembling them. All three wore black military uniforms and stood silently, listening only to the sound of metal and the clashing of swords outside their tent.
STEP STEP STEP
STEP STEP
Immediately, all three drew a handgun from their belts and aimed at the entrance in unison. A knight in black armour opened the tent and looked at them with a dull expression. All three lowered their guns when they noticed a thin pink hue in the knight's eye, so subtle that only someone who knew where to look would notice it.
The knight stepped aside, keeping the tent open for a smaller Korean woman, about five feet two inches tall, who appeared to be in her early thirties. She was sweating and reeked of sex fluids.
"You smell like shit, go take a bath, you whore," the Korean soldier on the right side of the table said to her with a disgusted look. She glared at him with anger but dared not respond.
"I've reached my limit," she reported to her three superiors in the adventurer's guild. "I have five level one aura knights under my spell."
"Get out," the soldier on the left side of the table told her with disgust in his eyes. She tightened her hand around her skirt, and the knight's eyes stared into the soldier's for a second before both left the tent.
"Why did you accept that whore into our group?" the soldier on the left asked the Korean in the middle.
"She's useful and easy to control," he replied in Korean. "She simply has to fuck a lord, and she'll have him under her control. We were unlucky that Lord Cinder is a mage and isn't interested in women right now. After this war, we can find another lord for her to control, and we control her, so we control a lord." They continued cleaning their stock of guns.
From high up in the skies, Ali had Abeloth lower himself to the edge of the clouds, where Ali climbed down and looked at Obidos. It was a lively town with thousands of inhabitants. He could also see a mine in a small mountain next to the town, where carriages were a constant stream between the mine and the town.
'It'll be a money-printing machine when I get my hands on it,' Ali thought as he climbed back up onto Abeloth's back. They continued flying to the east of the town, where the Beast Forest was located. There was a small trail that connected the town to the forest.
Ali continued riding on Abeloth's back for another minute before he jumped off the dragon's back and flew through the sky.
CRACK BOOOOOOOOOOOOM
Ali's eyes immediately landed on the source of the explosion, where a large blue lightning bolt struck the heart of the forest miles away from him, but he could see it from his position high up in the skies.
'What type of beast could cause destruction like that…', Ali thought as he saw a large mushroom of fire and dust appeared in the sky after the explosion.
Then his eyes went back down to see a large area in the forest cleared of the large trees, and a large fortress bigger than the Stork Fortress was sitting in that man-made clearing. It had water running around it, creating a land barrier except for the bridge that connected the castle to the forest.
'This is an ancient castle from the time the humans were fighting the demon spawn, according to the bandit, they have one level one aura knight who's their leader and an item they picked up from a dead group of adventurers' Ali remembered all the important details in the midst of falling down before he spun and used the Force to stop the fall and land smoothly on the branch of a tree on the edge of the clearing.
