Chapter 148 : Sacrifice!!

"Genya, what's wrong?"

Uchiha Kinya and Uchiha Shin from next door rushed into the room, looking stunned. They immediately noticed the anger on the young face of Genya!

Something was clearly wrong.

"What's going on?"

The two of them had never seen Genya this furious before.

"I felt someone using Susanoo. If I'm not mistaken, Shisui is under attack, and he used Susanoo in a moment of crisis!" Genya explained, glaring at them, his eyes burning with anger.

He couldn't tell if it was Danzo acting on his own or a scheme he had already plotted with Sarutobi Hiruzen.

"Shisui was attacked? It's fine. If he activated Susanoo, he's invincible!" Uchiha Kinya reacted with initial surprise but then relaxed.

To them, activating Susanoo meant invulnerability, at the very least.

"The chakra from Susanoo was faint, and it only lasted a moment before vanishing," Genya explained, his face growing darker.

It seemed Shisui was already at his limit.

Now, Shisui was probably in grave danger. But with the timeline moved up, could Itachi still save him?

Damn it!

"So, Shisui was attacked? And it's serious—he could die at any moment?" Uchiha Shin frowned, his expression growing tense. He turned to Genya. "Genya-kun, which direction was Shisui attacked in? We need to hurry and rescue him!"

Uchiha Shisui was also a genius ninja from the Uchiha clan, the future of his clan. How could anyone be allowed to harm him?

As he spoke, he was ready to rush out and help Shisui!

If they recklessly went after him, they would probably be killed by Itachi!

Saying this, Danzo led his group in the direction Itachi had left.

Shisui had already begun to fight. Standing at the edge, looking at the water falling endlessly below, he seemed a little nostalgic.

Itachi stood behind him, frowning as he thought, "So, Danzo personally tried to take your Mangekyō Sharingan? Did the Third Hokage have a hand in this?"

Shisui had just explained the details of the attack, but Itachi was skeptical. This attack wasn't just Danzo's plan. Perhaps the Third Hokage had a role in it as well!

"Maybe it was only Danzo," Shisui said, a bit lost. After the battle, he wasn't sure whether the Third Hokage was involved.

He wanted to think positively. The Third Hokage probably wasn't involved!

"Since that's the case, let's go back together!" Itachi said carefully, looking at Shisui. At this moment, he sensed something was wrong with Shisui.

No, He had felt something was off ever since Shisui had turned his back on him. 

Itachi gently tried to convince Shisui.

He wanted Shisui to return to Konoha.

"I can't go back to Konoha," Shisui said, staring at the waterfall. He ended his final attachment and suddenly turned around. "I wanted to use my abilities to stop the coup, but Danzo took my right eye. I'm afraid he won't spare my left eye either!"

Shisui fell silent for a moment before continuing, "Before that happens, I'll give you this eye."

With that, He reached up and pulled out his left eye, handing it to Itachi.

At the same time, He handed Itachi a scroll written in blood.

"Itachi!" Shisui hesitated, not immediately reaching out to take it.

"I don't have the ability to protect this eye anymore, so I have to part with you, my dear friend." Shisui spoke with a smile, despite having removed his own eye.

He was still that bright and cheerful boy. 

"Shisui, there's still hope. We can go back to the village and treat you!" Itachi insisted, still trying to bring Shisui back.

"Itachi, don't you understand? I can't go back anymore!" For the first time, Shisui showed his calm mind. 

"If the clan finds out that my injury was caused by Danzo, it will only increase the tension between the village and the clan. I can only give up on myself."

"The will is in the scroll. With me gone, the clan leader's plan for a coup may change. The clan will rely on you from now on!"

Shisui said each word carefully.

The smile on his face seemed to be comforting Itachi.

Itachi trembled slightly as he took the eye and the will, unsure of what to say.

"Goodbye, my dear friend."

Shisui smiled, leaning back. "Let me help you one last time. I'm a coward, but the Uchiha clan will depend on you from now on. I hope you can lead the clan and the village toward peace."

With that, His body started to fall backward and plummeted into the cliff.

In the distance, Uchiha Genya was rushing toward them. He had been watching the scene from several kilometers away with his Dual Pupil, especially noticing the two chakra signatures near the cliff.

He quickened his pace.

But at that moment, He saw one of the chakra signatures slowly fall back and plummet off the cliff.

Genya's pupils constricted. His heart raced, and chakra surged through his body. 

Shisui won't die!
