Gaia stared at Hermes, her gaze unwavering and unimpressed by the Olympian god before her. She cared little for the petty squabbles and power struggles of the gods, her interests lying elsewhere.
Yet, it was precisely because of his refusal to spy on her for Zeus that Hermes now found himself in this predicament; his divine powers were taken completely under the king of the gods' wrath.
"Look here, young god," Gaia said, her voice low and measured. "I am here simply because I wish to meet my granddaughter, Amphitrite. The last war was more than enough for me. I lost something important, and Zeus knows this well. I have no desire to challenge his reign or use the mortals for my own gain."
