Deandra emerged out of the cloud of dust, looking haggard and wounded while grasping her sword.
"Deandra?" I called out softly, but my voice seemed to have reached her regardless.
Deandra turned around, facing towards my direction.
"Victor?" Her eyes flickered at my sight one moment, and the next she jerked her head back.
"Be careful! They're ..!"
Before Deandra could continue her words, more silhouettes emerged from the other side of the wall.
The figures of other cadets were revealed. They were unfamiliar and armed, but something was strange about them.
Before i could place my finger on just what that nagging, and unsettling feeling their ambiguous eyes gave me, all three of the cadets charged forward immediately, raising their respective weapons.
"Damnation!"
Deandra, too, raised her sword and lowered her stance, ready for confrontation.
