The battlefield below was absolute chaos. Pirates and Marines clashed with brutal intensity, and towering figures like the Admirals and Whitebeard dominated the scene. Luffy was making his way through the battlefield, steam rising from his body as he fought off anyone who dared stand in his way.
They kept pushing forward, but the battlefield was littered with powerful enemies. Coby ducked and dodged through the chaos, taking down a few more Marines with quick hits. At one point, a Vice Admiral came charging toward Luffy, his massive sword aimed for his Captain's head. But Coby leapt in, using Soru to appear behind the Marine in an instant.
"Sorry, buddy!" Coby grinned before delivering a powerful Uchimizu right to the man's back. The compressed water shot sent the Vice Admiral midst of Whitebeard pirates tumbling.
At this time, Sengoku initiated his plan. From behind the advancing pirates, Sentomaru arrived, leading an entire squad of Pacifista. They charged into the plaza, aiming to trap Whitebeard's forces between them and the Marines. The massive, mechanical bodies of the Pacifista stomped across the battlefield, their cold, expressionless faces reflecting the chaos.
Kizaru appeared at this moment, his body shimmering with light. Before either Luffy or Coby could react, he delivered a lightning-fast kick. The speed was blinding, too fast for either of them to counter.
Both Luffy and Coby were sent flying back, the force of Kizaru's attack propelling them through the air. Fortunately, Jinbe, quick on his feet, leaped into action. With his immense strength, he caught them before they flew further away from the center.
"Thanks, Jinbe!" Luffy grinned, shaking off the hit as if it was nothing.
Jinbe gave a short nod, but his eyes were already back on the battlefield. "This is just the beginning."
Whitebeard's commanders saw the attack and immediately sprang into action. They charged forward to cover Luffy and Coby, cutting a path through the Marines and Pacifista alike. The battlefield erupted into even more chaos as both sides clashed with renewed ferocity.
At this moment, Sengoku, trying to gain control of the rapidly escalating situation, cut the Visual Den Den Mushi broadcast. Unfortunately for him, Coby had already planned ahead. Earlier, while using his Detached Hands, he had removed one of the cameras and hidden it in the ice. It was still streaming the battle in crystal clear 4K.
Coby glanced back quickly to check on the Den Den Mushi he planted. That's when he spotted Squard—near Whitebeard and walking toward him with a sinister look.
"Shit, I forgot about him," Coby cursed under his breath. His mind raced as he realized what was about to happen.
He immediately accessed his system. "System, buy quick!"
[Skill Scan initiated on 'f'. Analysis in progress… Kizaru's Finger Laser is a focused and limited application of the Pika Pika no Mi (Glint-Glint Fruit). This ability allows the user to fire a concentrated laser beam of light from the index finger. While less destructive than the full power of the fruit, it provides precise, deadly strikes. Estimated cost for acquisition: 50,000 SP. Please confirm if you wish to proceed with the Skill Scan and acquisition.]
Coby grimaced. "Fuck, that's expensive." He didn't hesitate though, confirming the purchase.
Raising his hand, Coby pointed his index finger toward Squard, who was now casually approaching Whitebeard, drawing his sword. Coby aimed carefully, using his thumb like a trigger to take precise aim.
Then he fired.
A bright laser beam shot from his finger, slicing through the battlefield like a bolt of lightning. For a moment, everyone froze. Both pirates and Marines turned in shock, their eyes on the laser. To them, it looked like Kizaru was about to assassinate Whitebeard.
But when the dust cleared, it wasn't Kizaru standing there. Instead, Whitebeard had blocked the laser just in time, his massive Naginata deflecting the beam before it could pierce Squard's shoulder. But in doing so, he also inadvertently stopped Squard's treacherous attack—the blade that was meant to stab Whitebeard in the chest.
The battlefield was thrown into disarray. Confusion spread like wildfire among the ranks of Marines and pirates alike.
"Kizaru saved Whitebeard?" a Marine stammered, disbelief clear in his voice.
Pirates who had witnessed the scene were equally bewildered. "Why the hell would Kizaru save Pops?"
Squard stood frozen in place, his betrayal laid bare for all to see. Whitebeard, eyes locked onto Squard, seemed to grasp the situation immediately. His towering figure loomed over the traitor, his voice deep and calm. "So, you've been deceived… My foolish son."
Squard, his eyes wide with shock, looked down at the sword in his hands, trembling. "Pops... I…"
But they all soon traced the beam to its source, spotting Coby bouncing in the air with Geppo, a grin plastered across his face. He raised his finger and puffed on it, playfully pretending to cool it down, though there was no steam.
"H-He copied the Admiral's attack!" one of the Marines stammered, eyes wide with disbelief.
Even Kizaru, usually so casual, looked visibly agitated, his eyes narrowing as he took in the sight of Coby. The copycat was openly taunting him. With a chuckle, Coby raised both his hands, mimicking his earlier pose, pointing his fingers like pistols toward the Marines below.
"Have you ever been fingered at the speed of light?" Coby quipped, his voice loud enough to carry across the battlefield.
The entire field burst into laughter, Marines and pirates alike caught off guard by the absurdity of the line. Kizaru's eye twitched. His typical aloof demeanor faltered for a second, replaced by a tightness in his chest. The Admiral was not amused, and the battlefield had become a spectacle.
The Whitebeard Pirates were stunned. Coby had just saved their captain from a fatal betrayal, stopping Squard's blade before it could sink into Whitebeard's chest. For a moment, disbelief hung in the air, and then frantic shouts filled the battlefield. Pirates surged forward, ready to pummel Squard for his treachery, but at the same time, they threw glances of gratitude toward Coby.
As Coby floated back down, he cracked his knuckles, his grin stretching wide. "Well, that was fun," he said, dusting off his hands.
Whitebeard's massive figure loomed over Squard, who stood frozen, eyes wide with guilt and fear. The old pirate, calm but with anger simmering just beneath the surface, stared down at his betrayer. His voice rumbled like distant thunder. "You've been tricked by Akainu."
Squard trembled, his grip tightening on his sword. "Pops... I didn't... I—"
Whitebeard silenced him with a wave of his hand. "Enough. Akainu used you to divide my crew, but it won't work." He lowered his massive hand and placed it gently on Squard's head, a gesture filled with fatherly care. "You're still my son."
Squard collapsed to his knees, tears streaming down his face as the weight of his actions sank in. "Pops... I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!"
Without another word, Whitebeard turned away, his eyes shifting toward the chaos of the battlefield. His expression hardened, fury burning in his gaze. He raised his fist high into the air, the atmosphere itself trembling at his power. With one massive swing, he shattered the ice mountains at either side of the battlefield, sending shards of frozen sea flying. The ground quaked beneath his feet as cracks spiderwebbed through the ice, and the very sea seemed to groan in pain.
"Everyone is free to leave!" Whitebeard's voice boomed across the battlefield, carrying his words to both pirates and Marines alike. "I didn't ask any of you to fight for me! If you're pirates, choose the truth you want to believe! But if you stay, you fight with me!" His eyes blazed as he issued the final challenge. "Prepare to put your life on the line!"
Coby, still floating above, glanced at the destruction Whitebeard had caused with awe and amusement. "Holy shit," he muttered, shaking his head. "That's one hell of a power."
