The Wrath of Serephina

After spending a delightful afternoon with Charla, we both took a moment to prepare ourselves before stepping into Chloe's chamber.

"Hello, Chloe. How are you feeling now?" I inquired, my voice laced with genuine concern as I entered the room. Charla followed closely behind me, and Serine trailed after her. The sight that greeted us was heartwarming; Lilly and the Guildmaster were seated on the edge of the bed, engaged in a soft conversation with Chloe. The warmth of familial love enveloped the room, and I could see the pride radiating from the Guildmaster as he watched over his daughter.

Chloe, a striking young woman of twenty-five, possessed medium-length brown hair that framed her delicate features. Her blue eyes sparkled with intelligence and determination, and her fair skin contrasted beautifully with her cherry-red lips. Beyond her captivating appearance, the Guildmaster had shared with me her remarkable talents; she was not only an adept magician but also a skilled administrator, having observed her father's diligent work throughout her life.

"Thank you, Lord, for taking care of us," Chloe said softly, her voice barely above a whisper as she rested against her pillows. The Guildmaster had filled her in on everything—the extent of my powers, my intentions, and the events that had unfolded thus far.

"I am truly grateful for everything you have done, not just for me, but for the people of this town. My father is overjoyed to have the chance to care for his family once again, as well as the community. I have heard tales of your might and that of your soldiers, and I am honored to pledge my service to you and this town for the rest of my life."

"Hmm, continuing the family legacy, I see. It would be a pleasure to have a woman of your caliber in my cabinet. I look forward to your joining us," I replied, a smile gracing my lips.

"Thank you, my lord. I am deeply grateful," she responded, her eyes shining with sincerity.

"Guildmaster, I entrust you with her care. Ensure she recovers swiftly; she is a vital asset for the development of our town. Your task is to see to her well-being," I added, a hint of laughter escaping my lips. "Hahaha!"

"As you command, Master," the Guildmaster replied with a respectful nod, his demeanor shifting to one of utmost seriousness.

"And Charla, I apologize for the makeover I gave your father. He now bears an entirely new appearance, adorned in black with intricate patterns. Hahaha! I hope you're not angry with me."

"Ha! My lord, I could never be angry with you. Besides, I think Dad looks amazing like this—he may not seem entirely human, but I find his strength appealing," Charla replied, her laughter mingling with mine.

"Well, I am not just strong; I am very strong!" he boasted, the laughter echoing around the room.

The atmosphere was light until Chloe posed a question that caught everyone off guard, causing Charla to blush.

"Lord, are you dating Madam Charla?" she asked, her tone innocent yet teasing.

"Huh? What? Is it true, my lord?" Charla's eyes widened in surprise, mirroring the shock on the Guildmaster's face.

"Ahem, well, I had planned to announce this during my upcoming speech, but yes, not only are we dating—she is my fiancée and the future queen of this town," I declared, the words resonating with a mix of pride and affection.

"Is it strange that you hadn't noticed, Guildmaster?" Serine chimed in, her voice playful, a chuckle escaping her lips.

"Well, I didn't think Master was interested in such matters," the Guildmaster replied, his expression a blend of confusion and astonishment.

"What do you mean, Guildmaster? I am a man! You've seen how manly I am; of course, I would have a woman by my side!" I retorted, the laughter bubbling up once more.

"Indeed, Master, you are quite the epitome of masculinity. Lilly, Charla, and I have all observed it," laughter erupting around the room, save for Serine and Chloe, who remained puzzled by the Guildmaster's earlier comments.

"I believe the townsfolk have gathered, and the ceremony is set to commence in an hour. Make sure you all arrive on time," I reminded them, my tone shifting to one of seriousness.

"Yes, Master, we will be there," they replied in unison, the laughter fading as we prepared for the next phase of our journey.

As I exited the room, Charla and Serine at my side, I encountered Ignite waiting for me in the hallway.

"Master, are you ready?" he asked, his voice steady and professional.

"Are all preparations complete?" I inquired, my mind already shifting to the tasks ahead.

"Yes, Master. All the goblins have been relocated to the town, occupying the empty houses. Some remain in the camp temporarily, but everyone is prepared and gathered for your speech," he reported, his demeanor efficient and focused.

"Excellent," I replied, a sense of anticipation building within me. The time had come to solidify our alliances and establish our future. The weight of leadership rested on my shoulders, but I was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

In the Spade Kingdom, a palpable tension hung in the air like a thick fog, suffocating all who dared to breathe. The grand assembly hall, adorned with intricate tapestries and polished marble, was silent, save for the furious voice of Goddess Serephina that echoed off its walls.

"Fool! Fool! Fool! Where is he? Albert, bring him quickly!" Her voice dripped with fury, each word laced with an urgency that sent shivers down the spines of those present. The court, filled with nobles and warriors alike, stood frozen in place, their eyes wide with fear as they exchanged glances, each one silently questioning the source of the goddess's wrath.

"Commander Kai! Come fast!" Serephina's voice rang out again, sharper than a blade. Moments later, Commander Kai burst into the assembly, his expression a mixture of concern and confusion. The sight that met him was one of chaos and fury, and he could hardly comprehend the depth of Serephina's rage.

"Goddess, what happened? Why are you so angry?" he asked, his voice steady, though his heart raced. Yet, before he could brace himself, Serephina surged forward, her ethereal form radiating power and indignation. In a swift motion, she seized Kai by the neck, lifting him effortlessly from the ground, her eyes blazing with a tempest of emotions.

"Goddess, what are you doing?" Kai gasped, his voice barely a whisper as the air was forced from his lungs. The assembly watched in stunned silence, their collective breath held, as the commander struggled for air.

"Mercy, oh kind Goddess! Please, show mercy!" he croaked, desperation creeping into his tone. Serephina, her fury momentarily tempered by a flicker of restraint, released her grip, allowing him to collapse to the ground. He gasped for breath, each inhalation a painful reminder of his near demise.

"Goddess, what happened? What did I do to make you this angry?" Kai asked, his voice now humble, almost pleading. He looked up at her, his eyes wide with a mixture of fear and concern. Serephina's furious gaze bore into him, her presence commanding and overwhelming.

"Stone has been killed in the Alzerian Kingdom. Someone has murdered him!" Her words struck like lightning, reverberating through the assembly and leaving a stunned silence in their wake. The shock was palpable, not just for Commander Kai, but for every soul present. Stone was not merely a warrior; he was one of the strongest fighters in their ranks, imbued with the goddess's divine energy, a protector of the realm.

"How can this be possible, Goddess? Stone was one of our mightiest defenders! With your gift, it would take an army of extraordinary strength to defeat him. The Divine Stone Warriors are not easily vanquished!" Commander Kai protested, his voice laced with disbelief and confusion. He could feel the weight of the assembly's gaze upon him, their eyes filled with a mix of hope and despair.

Serephina's irritation flared anew, and she snapped, "I know, fool! That is why I am asking—were your spies sleeping? They should have informed us of any large movements or attacks! If the Alzerian Kingdom was under siege, our spies would have detected it. What kind of fool are you to remain ignorant of such grave matters?"

"Goddess, are you sure Stone is dead?" Kai ventured cautiously, his tone low, careful not to sound accusatory. He knew the risks of questioning the goddess's information, yet the gravity of the situation compelled him to seek clarity.

"Are you suggesting that I carry misinformation?" Serephina's voice was icy, her eyes narrowing dangerously.

"No, no, Goddess! I was merely inquiring about your sources. I trust you completely," he stammered, scrambling to regain his composure.

"Listen, idiot," she snapped, her impatience evident. "The artifact I bestowed upon Stone was imbued with my divine energy. It was intricately fitted into his very being.I would be able to detect if that object were damaged because it is infused with my divine energy. the artifact has been removed or broken from him which means his death and your spies have not reported any disturbances, it indicates that someone has infiltrated and killed him.

"But who could it be? Is it their goddess?" Kai asked, a hint of desperation creeping into his voice as he sought answers amid the chaos.

"No, it is not their goddess," Serephina replied, her voice steadying as she contemplated the implications. "I have received word that she is ensnared in a trap, far from her kingdom. This is the work of someone else, an interference that we have yet to identify."

The assembly remained silent, the weight of Serephina's revelation hanging heavily in the air. As the tension thickened, Kai felt a surge of determination rising within him. "Then we must act swiftly, Goddess. If there is an enemy lurking in the shadows, we cannot afford to be caught off guard. We must gather our forces and uncover the truth behind this treachery."

Serephina regarded him thoughtfully, her expression softening slightly. "Very well, Commander. You will rally the troops and dispatch scouts to investigate the Alzerian Kingdom. We must find out who is behind this heinous act before they strike again."

The storm had begun, and they would face it together, united against the encroaching darkness.
