Chapter Four Night Tears

Bella's instincts definitely told her she was pregnant, she had observed her body changed for the past week. But how was that possible she thought, it was very hard and so impossible for her to get pregnant especially when she had an unstable period. She had been diagnosed of having an hormonal imbalance when she was just 18 years and has lost most of her chance of pregnancy each time she eventually gets one. 

She conducted a self pregnancy test on herself which came out positive. Her eyes were filled with tears as she feared that Jack was not going to believe her but she still had to give it a try. She had to let him know. She picked up her phone and called Jack.

"Something has gone wrong". She said in a sad tone.

"What has gone wrong". Jack asked, surprised.

"Just come over to the restaurant, let's talk it through, it's so important and we can't discuss it on the phone". She said to hang up the call immediately in order to avoid more questions.

"What's going on, what went wrong?. You sounded so depressed on the phone". Jack asked as Bella sat on a chair opposite him. 

Bella just kept her head bent down without a word as drops of tears flowed down her cheeks. She tried to say her word but shut her mouth. 

"Stop scaring me, I don't understand any words you say you are only scaring me here". He said when Bella was yet to say anything.

"I think I am pregnant". She said lifting up her head a bit to look at Jack's face inorder to see the shock on his face. 

Jack was frozen in shock on hearing Bella's last words. He still wasn't sure if it was his ears playing jokes on him or Bella was only trying to pull his legs. 

"You are pregnant". Jack stammered as Bella nodded her head in a manner of saying yes.

"For, who, when, how". He asked simultaneously with wild shock.

"For you Jack who else". Bella said as tears held her voice back. 

"But how, am sure you are making a mistake, why don't you go through the lists of the men you had sex with previously and know whose child you are carrying". Jack said still in weird doubts that she was pregnant for him. 

"What are you saying Jack!. Would I have just probably called you out of the blue if it wasn't yours". She shouted out in anger with her tears flowing more. 

"I was just trying to state some point because I'm not ready to be in a relationship and am not even yet sure you are carrying my child. Don't you get it". He yelled, getting uncomfortable already.

He was still unsure if Bella was saying the truth or not. He vividly recalled slipping in a condom that night. 

"I know you used a condom the other day, but I think something might have gone wrong and…..". Her tears prevented her from speaking further. 

"And what has probably happened". He said impatiently.

"And the pregnancy". She yelled without any haste. 

Jack still kept thinking and tried recalling every event which occurred that day.  He knew he had fixed the condom properly, then what had gone wrong. 

"What next?". He asked in a manner of trying to know Bella's next step. 

"What exactly do you expect? Do you want me to abort the pregnancy or what". She yelled.

"Take it easy, do you want everyone here to hear our discussion". He yelled back at her getting angry.

"I actually don't mind if you keep the pregnancy though". He said calmly.

"But… ". She stopped as she bent down her head.

"But what? ". Jack asked, surprised and filled with suspense. 

"I'm afraid that I might lose it". She said in a very low tone.

"What are you talking about? You are afraid of losing a pregnancy and you call me over". 

"I'm letting you know now because my chances of being able to keep this pregnancy are bridged". She said putting a feeling of fear in the atmosphere.

"Would just let me know what exactly you are talking about and stop all this suspense". Jack ordered me to get tired already.

"I usually experience a complicated issue with my ovaries. It is known as an hormonal imbalance thus making my chances of keeping a pregnancy dangerous. I've lost two of my previous pregnancy and that's why I'm letting you know all this now". She said with sadness in her voice. 

"You know what, I need some time to go through everything about this pregnancy. I will catch up with you some other time". Jack said as he stood up to leave the restaurant leaving Bella to her fate. 

Bella kept thinking about all the events that occurred with her and Jack. She surely knew that Jack was so doubtful about her pregnancy, she knew he did not believe that the pregnancy was his. 

She breathed heavily as she sat on the chair, a thought came to her to put a call through to her mum and let her know about the recent things she had been in. 

"Mum, I know I'm not supposed to bother you but it 's really urgent and serious". Bella said with her voice showing her sadness. 

"Would you just let me know". Her mum shouted getting angry already feeling she was about to make a demand.

"Am pregnant mum". She said, her words sounded like a bomb blast in her mum's ears. 

"You're what for who. Are you sure that you are not going to lose it". Her mum said in fear and surprise.

"That's my fear mum. And not just that". Bella's voice was held back with tears. 

"What's next, stop bothering me". Her mum said getting irritated already.

"Nothing serious mum, I just hope this one will be a success". Bella said, hanging up the call. Her heart pondered harder on recalling the fact that Jack was still yet to believe her.
