After admonishing Tao Sisi, Chi Yu returned to the podium.
Facing the hushed murmurs from the audience, she exuded a composed calm. "That's all I have to say. If anyone has any objections, now is the time to voice them. I will answer each one—but," she paused, scanning the room with a meaningful smile tugging at the corners of her lips, "if you, like Tao Sisi, spread fabricated stories about me or gossip behind my back, then—"
Chi Yu's gaze swept over her classmates. "Forgive me for my temper, but the slap I gave Tao Sisi could very well land on the face of any meddlesome gossip or idle chatterer."
The room descended into silence, stunned by her audacity.
Wasn't she supposed to be the top scorer in the college entrance exams? Weren't top scholars usually introverted bookworms? Why was Chi Yu so... formidable?
