"Ah, so comfortable!"
Liam stretched, loosening his joints, and scanned for a suitable spot.
There it was – a giant ancient tree, so tall that its top was impossible to see. Beneath it, the twisted roots had unintentionally formed a natural bed.
Now, all he needed was to spread a layer of dry leaves over it to make a proper mattress. Just the thought of sleeping on it made his eyelids grow heavy.
"Damn it. I can't control myself."
He trudged along the sloped ground, like an overworked office employee heading home after multiple shifts.
After a few brief moments of preparing his bed, he quietly lay down. Twisting and turning to feel the leaves rustling beneath him, he gazed at the vast ruins for a while before sleep.
"Hmm, beautiful. This is a perfect spot to admire the view."
Below him, most people had already fallen asleep, so he needed to hurry too. Tomorrow would be a big journey.
