Amara entered the grand headquarters of Lyselle Media, her heels clicking against the pristine marble floor. Morning light streamed through the tall glass windows, bathing the space in an almost angelic glow. Unfortunately, no amount of divine lighting could disguise the chaos she anticipated inside her department.
As she navigated her way to her office, her mind buzzed with mental notes about budget reports, Felix's latest antics, and, of course, the overwhelming absence of Elara. She missed her terribly, but she'd never admit it to anyone. Or maybe she would. Felix was annoyingly good at prying it out of her.
Before she could reach the sanctuary of her office, however, a figure stepped into her path like an overeager NPC in a role-playing game.
"Amara," the voice cooed.
