Was Yin Yin venting her anger? Su Mo's cold lips curled into a faint smile, and his eyebrows relaxed. He felt a warm sense of satisfaction knowing that his wife cared for him so deeply and protected him so fiercely. It was comforting to be defended by her.
After a grueling day of filming, Liang Xin left quickly, eager to avoid any further gossip.
As Sister Hu was about to follow, Yin Yin called her over.
"Sister Yin Yin, is something wrong?" Sister Hu asked, her expression respectful.
Yin Yin tilted her head slightly and said, "Are you Liang Xin's agent?"
"Yes, just call me Xiao Hu."
"I have a message for Liang Xin. Please let her know that Su Mo is my husband and she needs to stay away from him. She should not entertain any inappropriate thoughts. Otherwise…" Yin Yin paused before adding casually, "The entertainment industry can make or break a person overnight. I suggest she think carefully about her choices."
With that, Yin Yin turned and walked away.
Sister Hu was momentarily stunned, then realized that Yin Yin's actions were motivated by her concern for Su Mo. She didn't dwell on the "Su Mo is mine" comment but understood that Yin Yin was defending her husband. The threat at the end was not taken lightly; Sister Hu knew that Yin Yin had the power to make it a reality.
Sister Hu hurried to inform Liang Xin of Yin Yin's warning and advised her to stop pursuing Su Mo.
Enraged, Liang Xin threw all the cosmetics on the table to the floor. "Why should I listen to her? Just because she says so doesn't mean it's the end. I want Su Mo."
"Liang Xin, you really shouldn't provoke her. Yin Yin is not someone you want to cross," Sister Hu pleaded.
"I'm not afraid of her," Liang Xin shot back defiantly.
Despite Sister Hu's repeated warnings, Liang Xin remained resolute, only more determined to win Su Mo over. With no other option, Sister Hu left, planning to report the situation to the company and suggest reassigning Liang Xin to avoid further trouble.
After Sister Hu's departure, Liang Xin called her mother.
---
During the next round of filming, Liang Xin was unusually quiet. Sister Hu was relieved, hoping her words had had an effect. With Liang Xin no longer troubling Su Mo, Yin Yin let the matter rest.
When they weren't filming, Yin Yin, Su Mo, and their son, Su Yuanjin, enjoyed their time together as a family. Their bond was strong and harmonious.
Three months flew by, and the filming of *Phoenix Road* was nearing completion. With the Chinese New Year approaching, Yin Yin took a break and decided to introduce Su Mo and their son to her adoptive parents.
Yin Yin had a brother five years her senior before she was adopted. Her adoptive parents, now retired and living with her brother, took care of their grandchildren.
Although Yin Yin was adopted, her parents and brother treated her as a true family member. It was the first time Yin Yin brought Su Mo and Dudu to meet them, and both were quite nervous.
Su Mo, excited and anxious, saw this as a sign of how much Yin Yin valued their relationship. Despite his tendency to be a bit slow in conversation, he made a good impression on the elderly couple. They felt it was unfair for Su Mo to be with Yin Yin, knowing her workaholic tendencies. However, their favorite was undoubtedly their grandson, Dudu.
--------
Su Yuanjin was initially reserved when he first spoke with his adoptive grandparents, but as he felt their warmth and kindness, he gradually relaxed. By the time it was time to leave, he was reluctant to part from them.
Yin Yin had brought Su Mo and Su Yuanjin to meet her adoptive parents to offer comfort and an explanation to Su Mo. Additionally, with the New Year approaching, she planned to visit Su Mo's hometown with him and Dudu to meet his parents. After all, she had taken someone else's son for several years, and it was only right for her to visit his family as well.
However, she had not yet shared this plan with Su Mo.
On the 20th day of the lunar year, filming for *Phoenix Road* wrapped up, and a wrap-up party was held.
"Quick, take a shower. You smell like alcohol. I don't want you to get sick," Yin Yin said as she pushed Su Mo, who had had a few drinks, toward the bathroom.
"Okay," Su Mo replied, barely coherent from the alcohol. He obediently went into the bathroom to shower.
Yin Yin headed to the kitchen to prepare a hangover remedy.
As she finished making the soup, Su Mo's phone rang. The caller ID displayed "Mom."
Yin Yin hesitated for a moment, then went to the bathroom and knocked on the door. "Su Mo, it's your mother on the phone."
Su Mo, still dazed from drinking, responded, "Please answer it for me."
"Alright."
Without further hesitation, Yin Yin answered the call. Su Mo's mother's voice soon came through the line.
"Xiao Mo, have you decided to divorce Yin Yin? Whether you're coming back for the New Year or not, I've found a wonderful woman for you. She's only 25, a manager of a private company, good-looking, and very capable…"
Yin Yin listened to Su Mo's mother praising this woman, and her heart sank.
When Su Mo emerged from the shower, his head had cleared a bit. He saw Yin Yin sitting by the bed, her gaze lowered, lost in thought.
He noticed something was off and sat beside her. "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell? By the way, who called just now?"
Yin Yin looked up, her eyes dark and unreadable.
Su Mo's heart skipped a beat.
Yin Yin said calmly, "It was your mother."
The mention of his mother made Su Mo's heart sink further.
Yin Yin continued, "She asked if you had decided to divorce me and mentioned she had found a good match for you."
"Yin Yin, please stop," Su Mo interrupted, hugging her tightly. "Don't listen to what my mother says. I won't divorce you. Absolutely not."
In the past few months, the family had been getting along well, and Su Mo had even forgotten to update his mother about their situation. His mother assumed he was still at the villa, taking care of the children.
Yin Yin said softly, "During the Chinese New Year, let's go back to your hometown together."
Had Su Mo heard this in the past, he would have been thrilled. Now, it pierced his heart with sudden pain.
