As soon as I saw my status window, my attention was immediately drifted towards the new stat "Corrupt Mana."

"A new stat... I did expect a boost in my regular stats, but this? Corrupt Mana? "I muttered seeing a new stat on my status window. "...this is unexpected gain," I pondered for a moment.

The reason my all skills weren't at 100% efficiency was simple, because using too many skills at once depleted my mana too quickly, but the increase in my mana reserves due to [infinite Adaptation] was a tiny bit slow. Although it was slow, the process steadily improved both my skill efficiency and mana reserves over time.

After examining my status window, I realized that ingesting a monster's mana stone doesn't just add its stats on top of my own stats, but instead, it raises my stats to match that monster's level. For example, tha ape had great strength since that was his speciality, as I absorbed his mana stone my strength stat was also increased to match his. However, my agility was already high enough, so there was only a slight boost in that stat.

If the mana stone had granted me the ape's total numbers of stats, my agility would have skyrocketed to level of A-rank hunters. It's just that absorbing mana stones adjusts my stats to the monster's level, rather than stacking them over my own stats.

"Does this mean absorbing C-rank mana stones is useless now?" I muttered thinking that even hundreds of C-rank mana stones might be useless now, not that I was disappointed. "Well, it's time to check out my new skill."

I focused on [Spiral Sphere], eager to see what it had to offer.

----

Skill:Spiral Sphere

Description: A massive sphere of intensely rotating mana capable of obliterating an area the size of a small stadium, measuring 100 meters in length and 60 meters in width.

----

"This can't be just an A-rank skill, can it?," I muttered in disbelief, trying to process the description," this definitely should've been an S-rank skill." I double checked the rank of the skill, almost certain there must have been a mistake in the description.

"If the description of A-rank skills says this, just how powerful must S-rank ones be?" I wondered, trying to imagine an S-rank skill as I wraped my head around the idea,"I can only speculate at this point."

"Maybe the upper limits of this world are far greater than I imagined," I thought, feeling both excited and slightly daunted by this possiblity.

It was getting late as I was spinning my thoughts around,"Agh..too much thinking." I grabbed my phone and searched for a suitable dungeon to raid the tomorrow. "Tomorrow's going to a big day since I'm planning on raiding something big." After deciding on which dungeon to raid next on Hunter's Nexus, I set the phone aside and quickly drifted off to sleep.

-----

A stream of sunlight woke me up. Yawn!, I stretched a bit and quickly got up, going through my usual morning routine. Once I was ready, I packed up my gear and headed straight for the dungeon I had chosen last night 'Hellshade'."Today's going to be quite exciting."

Hellshade was a massive A-rank dungeon. It was structured like a scattered city. Different eerie communities were spread throughout the dungeon, each one more dangerous than the other. All paths, however, led toward the single large castle "The Malakar Castle".

I took a texi and arrived in front of the Hellshade dungeon. The entrance was quiet, with only a handful of people were around.

When this dungeon first appeared in this vicinity, it drew large crowds, and many teams were formed to challenge it as it was the highest ranking dungeon in the city. Yet, despite all the efforts, none of them succeeded in clearing it.All their efforts resulted in death. The lack of hunters in this city today was a dark reminder of how ruthless this dungeon was.

The gate was a monolith shaped, pitch-red coloured, oozing ominous mana. As I approached it, the guard asked for my hunter license and I knew that my license was limited to B-rank dungeons.

Hunters first receive a blue license card, which grants them access to B-rank dungeons and below. Only after the second re-evaluation do hunters receive a red coloured card, allowing them access to A-rank dungeons. The strongest hunter in the city, however, could be issued a VIP card by the Association, granting them permission to raid any dungeon.

When a higher-ranked dungeon is neglected for too long and nears its breaking point, the Hunter Association sends urgent requests to higher-ranked hunters from other cities to clear it. Dungeon break can release devastating monsters, and preventing this is always a top priority for the Association.

I handed over my VIP card to one of the guards, and the guard's eyes widened in surprise, looking almost relieved. "Did the Association send you to clear this dungeon?" they asked eagerly, clearly mistaking me for a high-ranked hunter from another city.

"Yes," I simply answered, trying to avoid any drawn out conversation between us. The guards nodded in my approval, stepping aside, giving me a way ahead to the dungeon gate without asking any further questions, which was exactly what I wanted. I walked toward the dungeon gate, ready to face the challenges ahead.

"It is going to be big challenge for me,"I thought as I knew I was jumping directly from E-rank dungeon to A-rank dungeon.

I entered the dungeon, and immediately, the environment changed. The air felt heavier, infused with a reddish hue, as if the entire environment was drenched in blood. It was an eerie half-night, with a dim glow, which was barely enough to illuminate the twisted, jagged terrain around me.

The area was so vast that I couldn't help but feel as though I had transmigrated to a different world. "Damn, just how many days will it take to clear this dungeon?" I muttered to myself, realizing the sheer scale of this place was far beyond what I had anticipated. "No wonder the previous teams failed to clear it," I thought, gazing at the sprawling landscape ahead.

"Now I should start my journey," I said to myself, setting off to raid the dungeon with anticipation, already imagining the challenges ahead that would further increase my power.

After roaming across the jagged terrain in linear path for a while, I finally reached the edge of a dark, twisted forest.

"The real hunt begins now," I murmured, feeling the thrill of battle stirring inside me as I prepared to deal with whatever lay ahead.
