Spilled Wine

The dining room was bigger than I expected, sorta of a fool for thinking it would be small in this humongous mansion. I was walking behind Roland when we had entered the dining room, so the other didn't know I was present.

Before Roland had stepped aside to reveal me, he smirked as he was about to make a speech.

"Listen up Spellhardts, I would like to introduce the newest member to this household.." Roland said as he moved aside.

Once he had, the room went silent. I couldn't tell what they were thinking or how many there were. I was too nervous and scared to lift my head.

"Go on.. introduce yourself.." Roland whispered in my ear.

For some reason, the sound of Roland's deep voice along with his breath on my ear, made a shiver run through my body. Instantly I was flustered.

But it was time to introduce myself, as I lifted my head up slowly, fidgeting with the long skirt of my outfit. I was surprised to see the rest of the family. They all looked scary and mature. three boys and two girls. One of the boys was Hizaki, the one from earlier.

"U-uhm.. Hello, my name is Uyeme Suneko." I'd bowed slightly, as that was the majority of the maids do when greeting, or their way of formality.

The butlers handed out the food, while I sat next to the other maids, whom we're patiently waiting to serve their masters.

'I suppose I should get use to this..' I thought to myself, as I watched them eat.

The feast that Verona and the others prepped up looked really good. They were turkey, mashed potatoes, breadsticks and a lot of more delicious things along with dessert. Just watching them made me drool a little.

I quit drooling when I noticed a boy looking at me.

'He's staring.. very hard at me. I think Roland said that was his younger son, Kirin.' I'd thought, meeting his eyes.

He looked around my age or maybe younger? Who knows.. I'm in a messed up world where they could possibly be over a thousand years old. Kirin however, unlike his other brothers.. He didn't look at me with lustful and desiring eyes.

And he was quite the good looker too, he had roughed tanned skin, his eyes matched mine, but his hair was dark.

Hizaki slammed his glass of wine onto the table and shouted. "Hey maid! Get me some more wine ASAP!"

Everyone looked at Hizaki, as he had a sinister grin on his face. One of the maid's willingly got up from their seat to give him more wine, But then.

"No, not you! I am talking about the new one.. Come be a dear and fetch me some more wine, Uyeme."

My heart began to pace. All eyes were on me now. Slowly standing up—I walked towards Hizaki with the wine. My breathing becomes heavy as my hands tremble the closer I get.

Hizaki's grin grew more, as if he had something planned for me. My eyes linger to Roland's directions—his expression was calm as he continued eating his food.

I stood over Hizaki now, looking down at him as he looked up at me.

"What are you waiting for? Are you not going to pour me some wine sunshine?" Hizaki spoke lowly, his grin becoming more defiant.

'This guy.. I don't know what but he gets on my nerves.' I'd thought to myself, putting on a fake smile.

I slowly poured the wine—making sure I didn't mess it up, watching as the crimson flow poured into the glass cup. Again.. I smiled, lifting up the wine—the cup almost full. I was relieved, surprisingly he didn't attempt anything like last time. Eager to get out of there and back to my seat, I had accidentally spilled the cup I just poured onto Hizaki.

My heart sank deep.

My skin felt tingly, knowing that everyone's eyes were on me. As for Hizaki.. I could feel him radiate with anger. I knew I had messed up.. And badly…
