Now… let's get a look at these magical skills!
[Quest Complete!]
Free the Planet 'Yardrat'
Rewards:
+10,000,000 XP
+500 Attribute points (10x multiplier from [Nightmare Mode])
+100 MP!
A random [Common] [Magical] skill!
A random [Rare] [Magical] skill!
A random [Epic] [Magical] skill!
Two random [Magical] skills
[You have leveled up!]
+50 Attribute points!
Gray grinned at the huge list of rewards.
Honestly, this quest was way too easy for all these rewards. I understand that the difficulty came from not being able to use Ki, but Kokobiel wasn't that tough even without Ki.
Compared to the previous life-or-death fights, where Gray had barely escaped with his life, his fight with Kokobiel was much duller. Not that the demon man wasn't tough - he was most certainly strong, and if he had been a bit better of a fighter than he could've seriously injured Gray.
But, he wasn't. Gray came out largely unscathed - well, with a bunch of wing-shaped holes in his torso, but they were shallow and didn't leave anything behind except some soreness as his gamer body healed the wounds.
Let's go from top to bottom. Gotta save the best for last, right?
Gray raised his hand, placing his finger over the common skill token before he paused.
…Am I really going to dump all those points I just got into LUK?
…
Fuck yeah I am!
Considering he was about to roll for five different magical skills - two of which were completely random, and the other three that could be upgraded through a LUK event - it wasn't the worst use of his points.
Getting a OP-ass skill could end up helping me more than putting these points into STR or END could anyway.
Though, as Gray dumped the 550 points into LUK, he felt a slight twinge of annoyance.
I need to start working on my END more. It's falling behind.
Compared to his STR, which sat at 1,800, and his AGI, which sat at 2,055, his END was falling behind at 1,340. Considering his more brute-ish way of fighting that came with Broly's fighting style, being able to tank blows was very important.
Whatever. I'll try to find some skills to grind it. For now…
Use [Common] [Magical] Skill Gacha Token?
Yes/No
Gray tapped yes.
[Rolling…]
[Common Skill!]
[Clothes Materialization] - Materialize clothes wherever you desire!
+10 MP for unlocking an MP-related skill! (10x multiplier from [Nightmare Mode])
+100 XP!
Gray blinked, staring in surprise at the skill.
Is this just Piccolo's clothes beam?
Gray tapped it again, bringing up the longer description for the skill, but was left disappointed.
[Clothes Materialization] - Materialize clothes wherever you desire! Convert a portion of your MP into a permanent clothing structure.
On the surface, it was more a quality-of-life skill. But…
I'll need to do some testing with it. It has more uses beyond just making bad-ass outfits.
In theory, if Gray could create any type of clothing, then he could make near-indestructible armor, or at least more protective armor than the rather flimsy Saiyan armor - which tended to break from any major attacks.
Or, more realistically, I use it to repair the armor mid-fight.
On top of that, the more pressing concern was what the system defined as 'clothing.'
If Bulma sat on my face, then technically I'm wearing her like a mask, right? So, she would be a piece of clothing! Does that mean I can materialize another Bulma?
…
Probably not, it's a fuckin' common skill, but it's worth trying.
Overall, Gray didn't think it was a bad skill. Especially for a common one - there were worse outcomes. And so, he tapped on the next token.
Use [Rare] [Magical] Skill Gacha Token?
Yes/No
Gray tapped yes.
[Rolling…]
[Rare Skill!]
[Seal of Weakening] - Apply the [Weakening] debuff to a target!
+10 MP for unlocking an MP-related skill! (10x multiplier from [Nightmare Mode])
+1000 XP!
My first debuff skill?
Gray grinned, tapping for the longer description, though he was already excited about having the skill.
[Seal of Weakening] - Apply the [Weakening] debuff to a target!
[Weakening] - Decreases a target's total stats temporarily by a percentage rate!
Percentage calculation: [Seal of Weakening] LVL x 0.1.
[Seal of Weakening LVL 1] - Decrease a target's total stats by 0.1%!
Not bad. Not bad at all.
The percentage rate was low, but it was also a percentage decrease in stats. Even 1% - which Gray could get by leveling up the skill to level 10 - could make a serious difference in a close fight.
Level 10 won't take that long, and If I really grind it I can get it to level 20.
Gray's only level 20 skill so far was [Determination] - which he trained pretty much constantly both through fighting and training - so the idea of grinding his new skill up that high was daunting but not impossible.
Now, let's go to the really good shit!
The final set-rarity token was the epic one - and, judging by the skills Gray had seen in the skill shop before, there were a lot of good skills he could get.
This rarity had signature-move level stuff. Kamehameha, Tri-Beam, Special Beam Cannon…
Use [Epic] [Magical] Skill Gacha Token?
Yes/No
Gray paused as he had his finger over 'yes,' musing on the fact that he couldn't think of any magical signature moves.
What's a magical attack on par with a Kamehameha?
He shrugged, tapping yes as he readied himself to likely get a skill he had never heard of.
[Rolling…]
[Epic Skill!]
[Portal Creation] - Create a portal!
+10 MP for unlocking an MP-related skill! (10x multiplier from [Nightmare Mode])
+5000 XP!
Gray blinked, staring blankly at the description.
The fuck?
He quickly tapped the skill, bringing up the longer description.
[Portal Creation] - Create a portal! A [Portal] connects one location to another, allowing for travel between two locations.
[Portal Creation LVL1] - Create one portal within 5 feet of yourself and another within 10 feet of yourself. All portals will remain open for 10 seconds.
The distance between portals, number of portals, and time open increases with LVL.
That's… good. That's really fuckin' good.
Gray stared blankly at the skill, surprised that it was only [Epic] rarity.
This is fuckin' great. Once it's a really high level I can use it to travel quickly, but even right now it's awesome.
Being able to open portals mid-fight was overpowered as hell - Gray could vividly see the image of Zamasu beating the living hell out of Goku, kicking him through one portal than opening another so that Goku flew into his fist.
Portals are versatile as hell.
They could be used in a ton of different ways - you could fire a blast through one and open a portal behind your enemy, or put one in front of you to block an attack and send it blasting in a different direction. They could be used in the way Zamasu did - flinging your opponent through portal after portal, disorienting them and locking them into a never-ending combo. Not to mention, they could even be used to dodge attacks or flee from an opponent.
Fuck yeah.
Gray grinned, unable to resist as he held out his hand. He channeled his Ki into his chest, converting it into MP as his minimal MP reserves wouldn't be enough. He pushed out his palm, and suddenly a large, purple, spinning vortex formed in front of him. It was tall and wide - being even larger than Gray's long and towering frame. He poked his finger at it, but it was as if he was pushing into an indestructible wall.
Then, he moved his palm to the side, thrusting it out again. Another purple vortex appeared, swirling in the air roughly 5 feet in front of him. Gray pushed his hand into the first portal, and…
That's… kind of creepy.
Gray watched as his hand went through one portal and popped out the other, looking like a disassembled hand floating in the air. Gray stepped forward, walking into the purple vortex, and was suddenly standing 5 feet ahead of where he had been.
Sick.
Gray's grin grew wider, and he flicked his hand, dispersing the portal from existence. In terms of an epic skill, he couldn't ask for more.
Now, let's see these two random ones.
Gray turned to his final two tokens, which could be any rarity.
Come on, LUK. Come in clutch for me this time!
Use [Magical] Skill Gacha Token?
Yes/No
[Rolling…]
[Common Skill!]
[Lie Detection] - Increase your ability to tell if someone is lying!
+10 MP for unlocking an MP-related skill! (10x multiplier from [Nightmare Mode])
+100 XP!
Gray stared at the text blankly.
…Well, it's not the world-breaking skill I was hoping for, but it could be worse.
He tapped on the skill to bring up the longer description.
[Lie Detection] - Increase your ability to tell if someone is lying!
[Lie Detection LVL1] - You have a 5% chance of discerning a lie!
Chance calculation: [Lie Detection] LVL x 5.
…5% chance sucks, but hey, if I get it to level 20 I'll be able to tell everytime!
Gray sighed, feeling like he was coping. Overall, it wasn't a terrible skill - and could actually be pretty useful once he was able to discern a lie 100% of the time - but it was daunting to think that he'd have use so much time grinding up a non-combat skill.
Whatever. I got a common skill this time, so the next one's going to be good for sure, right? How about a world-breaking one? It's gotta balance out!
…
It's Nightmare Mode. It'll probably be another fuckin' common!
Gray shrugged, tapping on the final token and using it.
Use [Magical] Skill Gacha Token?
Yes/No
[Rolling…]
[Common Skill!]
Of fucking course it is-
[Alert!]
[You have encountered a 5% LUK event!]
[Common Skill] has been upgraded to [Rare Skill]!
Oh, thanks LUK. At least it's not commo-
[Alert!]
[You have encountered a 1% LUK event!]
[Rare Skill] has been upgraded to [Epic Skill]!
Gray blinked, the grin forming on his face again.
I knew dumping all my points into luck was a good call. Fuck yea-
[Alert!]
[You have encountered a 0.5% LUK event!]
[Epic Skill] has been upgraded to [Legendary Skill]!
…Fuck yeah!
That's where Gray's luck ended, as the skill didn't upgrade again, but he wouldn't complain about getting a legendary skill.
[Reflect] - Upon taking damage from an attack, reflect the damage back at the attacker!
+10 MP for unlocking an MP-related skill! (10x multiplier from [Nightmare Mode])
+10000 XP!
Gray's eyes went wide as he stared at the description.
There's gotta be a catch, right? That's too broken - I'd never lose a fight if I just reflected all the damage I took!
Gray tapped on the skill, bringing up the more detailed description and finding out that there was indeed a catch.
[Reflect] - Upon taking damage from an attack, reflect the damage back at the attacker! The amount of damage that can be reflected is based on your skill LVL, and the amount of damage reflected from an attack is calculated using your END!
[Reflect LVL1] - Reflect up to 50,000 HP worth of damage!
There's always a catch. Fair enough - if I could just reflect everything, then this would be in world-breaking instead of legendary.
Gray hummed, his eyes glossing over the description again.
I'll need to do some testing. Does that mean I can reflect any attack under 50,000 HP worth of damage repeatedly, or is it a total of 50,000 and recharges over time?
Either way, the skill was good - either Gray was now immune to any weak-to-mid strength attacks, which would add up in a battle both in regards to Gray taking damage from them and his opponent now taking the reflected damage - or it was as if he went into any fight with an extra 50,000 HP and his opponent had already taken 50,000 HP of damage. That number would only increase as the skill leveled up as well.
But, that's enough thinking for now.
Gray grinned, satisfied with his new skills as he turned to the direction Pybara had led his group.
I did a lot of work today, huh? Beating a shit ton of demons, killing Kokobiel, and collecting my rewards. I should let loose a bit…
Gray shot up into the air, glad to be able to use his Ki again as the trick barrier was being upheld by Kokobiel - who was now dead - and headed toward the nearest city. He was looking forward to the feast and celebration, as well as…
…Clapping some demon cheeks.
With how mentally exhausted he was from the busy day, Gray didn't think he'd have it in him to turn away Kalawarna, Mittelt, or Raynare when they inevitably came onto him again.
As he thought about the three sexy demon women, another muscular women with an absurdly thick ass came to mind.
…Maybe some Saiyan cheeks too…
