Abduction

Olivia's face was flushed, her eyes wild as she hurled the words out again, each syllable trembling with anger and desperation. "Where are you hiding my daughter? Where's Lou?" Nick and Amelia exchanged quick glances, both taken aback, both trapped between confusion and shock, trying to absorb the intensity radiating from Olivia. Nick raised his hands slowly, almost as if he were trying to calm down a storm.

"Olivia, hold on," he said, his tone edged with frustration. "You really think I took your daughter? Where would you get that idea?"

Olivia's voice rose, hysterical now, nearly at a shout. "Who else? Either you or that conniving mother of yours!" She spat the words, her contempt tangible, like something you could almost touch. "Lou's driver and Sean's were attacked, and now the kids are missing. Who else would do this if not you?"
