Chapter Ten

The room was getting tense, too tense.

Sarah was smiling widely as Katie proved Emily innocent.

The maids and security were whispering again but this time their stares were apologetic towards Emily. They saved the cold stares for Grace and Kelvin, who had shrunk into a couch, embarrassment and anger switching in his eyes. Grace looked like she was going to cry or, if given the chance, strangle both Emily and Katie to death.

Mrs. Reeds was enraged, not only because she had been lied to, but also because her trust had been broken. She knew her son was insolent and sneaky, but she also knew of his bizarre obsession with women, but she had never imagined he would place such allegations on anyone. She was more pissed about the part Grace played. The level of trust she had for Grace was more than that she had had for any maid. Grace had served her since she was a teenager, and she had never had any reason to doubt her.

"Mum, I hope I have convinced you…"
