Flashback - Last Night After the Attack

The dark sillhouette's severed head and body immediately vanished into thin air in form of smoke

Ruby laid on the ground unconscious as Moses and Sabrina rushed over to her. The three armored superhumans approached her too.

"Ruby!" Moses screamed as he shoved her unconscious body in hopes that she would wake but she didn't even budge. Sabrina tapped her face but she didn't wake up.

"What's have you done to her!" Sabrina yelled and grabbed the female leader by the kneck but she is quickly pushed away with the flick of a finger. The female leader was immensely strong.

"She'll wake up...we have to take her to HQ" The female leadership replied instantly.

The female leader conjured and condensed her fire power which she shot at a very high speed and pressure thereby reaping a hole through space and time creating a portal

"Follow us" The female leader said blatantly.

"Excuse me....we don't even know you" Moses replied with a sharp frown on his face.

The female leader turned around and walked over to where Moses and Sabrina were standing .

"Believe me if I wanted to harm you in anyway.....I wouldn't be talking to you at all.....you would probably be burned to ashes by now." She muttered.

Moses and Sabrina went silent for a moment.

"So I am asking you to trust me cause I'm on your side" The female leader concluded and went into the portal. One of the two remaining armored guys shaped his thumb into a thumbs up and pointed it at Moses with a crude smile

"I promise you're gonna love it" he said as he entered the portal

Immediately, they entered the portal carrying Ruby's unconscious body.

By the time they came out at the other end, the scene was mesmerizing. They were in a glassy space vessel hovering over the earth. Moses and Sabrina's eyes widened in surprise. The vessel was so large and there were knobs, controls, monitor screens and different types of gadgets scattered all over the place. It was a hub of futuristic tech that travelled the world.

Tha female leader transformed back to normal and her hair was shortened too just like Ruby's. The other guys also did the same.

"You're welcome to the White Herald's Space HQ....call me Shade" She commented as she scratched her short hair.

"I'm Joe and this is my twin brother Kennedy" The other two guys said happily. Joe pressed a button on an hologram screen which corresponded to unleashing a table hidden underground. The table legs were constructed in an instant and stood strong.

"This place is....awesome....." Moses whispered within him as he dropped Ruby's body onto the table

"I can see everything from up here..." Sabrina muttered as she walked over to the glass wall that protected her from the harsh conditions of space.

"What's happening here?" A voice spoke from behind. Everyone looked in the direction of the voice to spot another guy in a blue T-shirt. He had curly hair and wore glasses.

"Pardon me for not introducing you to the last guy in our squad.....Jared" Shade said as she winked at Jared."

"We're pleased to meet you guys.....and you must be?" Jared asked curiously

"Moses....and she's my sister....Sabrina" Moses replied confidently.

Shade grabbed a lage object shaped like a cannon and pressed a button on it. It gave out a robotic hissing sound as it gathered energy. She pressed it on Ruby's chest and shot into her a large dose of strange energy which shocked her back to life. She screamed as she arose due to the shock. Moses and Sabrina ran over to her and embraced her.

"You're alive" Ruby whispered as she embraced her friends.

"And you must be Ruby...our new Herald" Jared walked over and helped her to sit upright on the table.

"How'd you know my name?" Ruby asked in uttermost curiosity.

"I can read memories" Jared replied.

"Oh"

"If I may ask.....who was that shadow guy..... the guy I killed....who was he and what's all these about?" Ruby asked another question.

"Don't you mean....the spawn you killed?" Jared replied with a question.

"Spawn?"

"Yes Spawn....what you took down wasn't the real thing Ruby. That thing was a spawn of MADRIAN the dark Herald" Jared replied and continued.

"21 months ago, a mysterious element found it's way into our dimension through the south pole. The first trace of this element was found in the antarctic circle. A stone... which broke into fragments and spreaded round the world. It had no earth like attributes and within it's atoms, a vast and unlimited amount of energy was produced. we named the stone Nuclear Soda. That fragments of the stone had an affinity for anything human and could bond with mankind granting them special abilities" Jared said blatantly.

Shade brought hot Coffee for everyone. She gave everyone their cups and finally settled down to join in the tale.

"When we looked into fragments of the Nuclear Soda, we discovered that it worked like an hive mind.....a change in state of one resulted in a change in state of all...." Jared continued.

"Are you telling me now that a fragment of the stone blended with you guys?" Moses asked

"That stone granted us our abilities and helped Ruby defeat Madrian's Spawn. Madrian just like us gained his ability from the Nuclear Soda....but he turned to the dark side and decided to use his powers to harm humans. We tried to hunt him down but he was slippery due to his spawns. Shade can control fire, Joe has Telekinesis, Kenedy is basically superstrong....I can read memories.....Madrian can create spawns."He stopped and took a sip of his hot coffee.

"Shade's cofee tastes nice as always...." Jared complimented.

"Consider spawns as shadow replicas of yourself.....he had the ability to create a hundred the last time we fought him.....right now....he could probably create a thousand. Madrian has the ability to grow stronger as long as he is connected to the Nuclear Soda but thanks to Ruby, his powers source is gone."

"She killed him." Sabrina muttered.

"Yes I basically cut off his head" Ruby said.

"That was not him....it was just his spawn. Madrian.....is alive and he is probably looking for another Nuclear Soda fragment. He won't be able to create spawns for now until he gets another fragment." Jared concluded.

"The mistake he made was letting his spawn handle his Nuclear Soda." Shade said in a low tone.

"He wasn't expecting you guys....he wanted to kidnap Ruby" Moses contributed

"Why would Madrian try to Kidnap Ruby?" Joe asked

Puffin City Street - Day

"Because Ruby somehow has a connection to all of this"

A man in a dark hoodie walked down the street, homeless beggars sat on each side of the busy street. He walked down with strange confidence and great power could be felt as he walkes past the beggars. They watched as he approached a particular teenage homeless beggar. He was looking haggard, dirty and he wore torn clothes. He was also looking malnourished. The man in the hoodie tossed five Puffin Dollar note in his money basket and the boy looked up into the eyes of the handsome young man wearing the hoodie.

He was surprised, apparently he had never received so much money.

"I can give you more if you follow me..." The man said in a thick manly tone

"This is so much money sir who are you?

"My friends call me Bobby....my enemies call me....MADRIAN"
