"So far....what we understand about the stone is that it blends with human cells and trades energy with it's human host... and a stone chooses a host becomes one with it forever." Jared stated as he slipped a cup of coffee and sighed in pleasure.
Ruby, Moses, Sabrina and Joe were seating on a table facing Jared while Shade and Kennedy were working something out with the space station's electical connection. Something was not quite right as wireless signals from the the ground base had been delayed for close to three days
"But Madrian....his whole transition was one big old mystery. He is the only herald who doesn't have a stone inside him. He absorbs the stone's energy from outside to create spawns. However, without the stone,he can't create spawns.....but who knows.....he might have residual abilities." Jared concluded and stood up to stretch.
"So the origin cannot be traced...can it?" Ruby asked.
"Sadly... it's impossible, all efforts to trace where it came from failed. But who knows.....we might have a breakthrough someday." Jared said and took another sip.
"Hey Jared..... don't you think we should check out the others at ground base.....their daily signals have been delayed for close to three days now.?" Shade stated as she walked over to the whole group along with Kennedy.
Jared went silent for some seconds and rummaged his thoughts. He knew that the ground base never behaved like that.
"Delayed you say..... that's strange. The ground base does not delay signals especially safety signals. Suit up....Let's go check it out" Jared sipped the rest of his coffee and dropped his cup.
Ruby was confused amidst the whole ground base thing.
"Excuse me.... ground base....are there others?" Ruby asked.
"We are not the only ones who came in contact with the stone fragments Ruby. We found three others and positioned them in the ground base....but who knows there might be more people who came across the fragments scattered all over the world. We have to find them before Madrian does....."
Jared confidently stated and stood up from where he was seating. He grabbed a remote and tapped a button which activated a big screen at the centre of the control room. A news reporter appeared to be reading news at the time.

It appears that the notion superhumans will no longer be a far fetched idea has witnesses have reported sightings of flying humans and super strong people. According to one whiteness Theresa Smith who complained that her son who could not lift her truck's batteries could now lift the whole truck..... with two fingers.
Another witness reported a flying man passing over her R.V late at night. Many have categorised these sightings as fake....but a few believe...
Jared turned off the screen and faced everyone.
"Do you see.....we have to find them. I don't know why Madrian is looking for them but I'm pretty sure it's not for good reason. He's probably scouting for them the same way he scouted for you." Jared spoke with confidence amd assurance, he knew what he was talking about, he was sure.
Shade transformed in a bright light Into her armored self and opened a portal by blasting her fire with great power and pressure into air. Kenedy and Joe also transformed and prepared to enter the portal.
Jared pressed a button on his wrist watch and a liquid metal exoskeleton slowly built up on his body. It kept coagulating till it was rock solid protecting all his delicate parts. He was basically using an artificial armor.
"Looks like the stone didn't bestow upon you a super armor..." Ruby said.
"Yeah but it bestowed upon me a super brain.....plus I'm a martial artist. I can handle myself if need be. We're going to ground base to examine what's going on.....wanna come? You'll get to meet the other Heralds" He asked Ruby as he approached the portal ahead of him.
"Well.....I would but my mom is holding a little family dinner along with her new boyfriend. She wants me to meet him and she would kill me if I missed dinner" Ruby replied.
"That's okay... Shade.....send them home. I'll see you around sometime....." Jared entered the portal while Shade opened another portal for Ruby and her friends to pass through.
"Bye guys!" Ruby yelled as she entered the portal with her friends.

Penguin City Street - Alice's House - Night
A fiery portal opened up at Alice's House entrance. Ruby, Sabrina and Moses came out and the portal closed. They approached the house.
"That was quite the experience" Moses said as he yawned and stretched his body.
"Come to think it, Ruby no longer calls Alice fake mom..hahahaa..." Sabrina said and laughed.
"Ohh yeah that's right.....I noticed.... what's up Ruby? Why the sudden change of heart?" Sabrina asked in curiousity.
"Just accepted the bitter pill.....besides she acts as a mom so why use the cringe fake mom" Ruby replied.
"I told you it was cringe"
"Shut up Moses"
"Hey why do you guys always tell me to shut up? Especially when I say the right things"
"Just keep shut"
Ruby pressed the house bell and waited outside for some seconds before someone opened the door, a teenage boy, the boy Bobby (Madrian) picked up from the Beggar's street in Puffin City. He looked much more better and nourished now than ever, he already grew muscles and looked pretty strong and handsome. He stared at Ruby as she and her friends entered the house, Ruby noticed this and looked away.
Alice and Bobby were sitting and happily discussed on the dinner table. The beggar boy went back to join them on the dinner table. Ruby and her friends stood a few metres away from the dinner table.
"Oh look.... they're back from school.....come eat guys.....come join us" Alice said with a bright smile on her face.
Ruby and her friends sat on the dinner chair and faced the table
" Bobby.... meet my daughter Ruby. Ruby, here's my new boyfriend Bobby and his son Duke. They're from Puffin City" Alice said with a giggling expression.
"And Alice's friends....Moses and Sabrina" Alice said and pointed to Moses and Sabrina who were already gobbling up the Tuna Casserole .
Ruby gave Bobby (Madrian) a cold and silent stare for some seconds before he busted into laughter
"Hahahahaha..... don't give me the cold shoulder Kid.....I'm not hostile. You've got quite the kid Alice hahahaha" Bobby stated as he laughed.
Ruby and her friends paused eating for a second before busting to laughter too. Everyone laughed their hearts out and the dinner went on.

Parrot City -White Heralds Ground Base - Night
A fiery portal opened up. Jared and his group stepped out of the portal and it closed. They were in an underground facility but not the one they once knew. Everywhere was scattered and destroyed. They walked down the passage and the lights flicked on and off as if they were unstable. There were cracks and blood smears on the wall and everything just looked out place and creepy. Looked like someone or something attacked the whole place.
"Damn this whole place is a mess" Jared said blatantly.
"Yes.....A big mess...soon you'll be a part of the mess" A menacing croaking voice spoke from the darkness behind them.
"The so called Heralds here were nothing but weaklings.....I destroyed them in one move..... you're next and I have a question..."
"Who wants to go first boys?"
