A New Path

The valley stretched out below them, an untouched expanse glowing beneath an alien sky. Twin crystalline mountains rose on either side, their faceted surfaces capturing the unearthly sunlight and scattering it across the valley floor in fractured beams. Bioluminescent grasses bent with an unseen current as the river snaked through the terrain, casting waves of indigo and violet across the earth, illuminating the beginnings of a settlement.

“This is it,” Tunde declared, shading his eyes as he scanned the valley. “This is where I’d build a home. Water, cover, vantage points on the mountains.” He motioned to the peaks with a satisfied grin. “You’d see anything coming our way from up there.”

Biodun nodded, absorbing the sight. “Agreed. But this can’t just be a fortress.” He watched the river as it shimmered with iridescent hues, illuminating the land with a soft glow. “We need more than a stronghold. This place has to be a true home—safe, stable, lasting.”
