The Flower

Rache glanced out the window.

The sky was still gray, with heavy clouds that looked like they were ready to burst open and spill their contents over the ground below.

They already were.

But it looked as if they might just downpour in buckets at any moment.

The rain hadn't stopped, just as Donncahd said.

The garden would be wet and cold, the plants drenched in water.

It was not a good day to be out there, not if she wanted to stay healthy.

And she really should spend time reading.

She needed to learn about Sidera, and about this world, if she had any hope of survival.

If she could find a library, there might even be a map to study.

But she kept finding her gaze trailing down to the garden below.

To the peaceful place she knew was hidden inside it.
