The Week's End

She wanted to stay longer, but she was starting to get tired.

Rache yawned, her eyelids heavy, her head aching slightly. Her body felt worn down.

Fiadh had said the rain was coming, so...

It was time to leave.

Rache reluctantly rose from the bench, her legs aching from sitting too long. She walked back to the garden maze.

As she neared the entrance, she saw Ela waiting.

She frowned. The woman looked...

Anxious.

When she approached Ela, the woman bowed her head, then quickly ushered her into the manor and up to the bedroom.

"Your Highness...did you enjoy the food?"

"Yes, thank you." Rache murmured, her eyes flicking to Ela.

"Good. I'm glad."

"Thank you...also, for the umbrella and the cloth. It was...thoughtful of you."

Ela's cheeks turned slightly pink, and she ducked her head, a shy smile on her lips.
