The Winding Path

Rache sighed as she carried Darrach in her arms and Fiadh walked beside her.

The goat herder gave directions - but not very clear ones.

The way he talked about it, she expected a long alleyway with the building at the end, but this definitely was not the case.

He was right in general direction, of course, but his 'at the end of that path' turned out to be a few intersections away.

The whole place - just the entire little settlement of servant and their scattered houses around the palace grounds - was rather dark and dingy in her opinion so that didn't help, either.

She hadn't exactly explored it before.

So, aside from the vague directions, she was completely dependent on Fiadh's navigation. She couldn't even make it back to her room from where she was without help.

And that didn't sit well with her at all.
