Raiding the Lich's Lair (5)

Vekka couldn't believe his eyes. He had half a mind to slap himself hard, just to prove that he wasn't dreaming. But his eyes wouldn't lie. The immense heat and pressure didn't lie. And the Flesh Golem that lay defeated on the ground didn't lie.

When Amon separated the two Flesh Golems and sought to take one for himself, Vekka assumed that he was crazy. A Flesh Golem was a terrifying artificially constructed creature made of stitched-together humanoid body parts and animated through a combination of alchemical processes and dark magic. And the ones that guarded the Lich's lair were overloaded with necrotic mana, possessing immense size, enhanced durability, and overwhelming speed.

Just by standing in its presence, Vekka could tell that the Flesh Golems weren't anything to be trifled with. If he were to face the monster, his head would be severed from his neck within seconds. So, for Amon and Leon to take one each was utterly ludicrous.
